The weather has been bad, which is good for gold:
When there are severe storms, the gold moves around in the mountains and redeposits in catch areas with the torrential currents and flooding. This makes gold easier to find - never “easy”, but often easier. Will still take a combination of effort, skill and luck to get some good gold, but the heavy rains give opportunities for us gold prospectors.
Time to start planning the next trip into the local mountains…

This is going to be a great gold year for us in California! So much gold is being washed downstream right now, exciting. I met a guy once who would sneak into the LA river bottom when it's dry to scoop out gravel to pan. Apparently even down there he found gold!
You should wait for the storm to stop and start looking for your gold again Traveling in the mountains is full of problems but also full of joy, so keep searching for gold and keep telling us.
