Nice Coin. Don't have any British silver yet, mostly straight bullion coins and bars, a couple dozen silver eagles, a few Canadian maples and a Chinese panda or two.
A British pound is like a U.S. Dollar.
That coin was minted by the U.K. government so it has a face value, in this case 2 British Pounds. It's like The U.S. silver eagles that the treasury mints with a face value of 1 dollar.
Interesting note. The British Pound was originally expressed in pounds sterling. Stirling silver is 92.5% silver. So a one pound note could be exchanged for a pound of sterling silver.
Cool!
Yeah lol about a 100 years ago.
