A day in Bratislava, Slovakia

It was a short but pleasant business trip to Bratislava, capital of Slovakia.
To do the work and sightseeing in just one day was not easy but we made it.
Bratislava is located only 60 km from Vienna on the coast of mighty river Dunav. Vienna and Bratislava are the nearest two capitals in Europe.

The old part of the city is a part where cultural events take place throughout the year.
Almost in the city center, there is a Bratislava Castle, one of the most famous monuments. A castle offers a spectacular view of the city.

West side of the city, Petržalka, is the new part known by skyscrapers, residential and business blocks.

One of the symbols of Bratislava is the tower known as UFO because it looks like an unidentified flying object :))

On the top of the tower, there is a restaurant for, of course, people that are not afraid of heights.

A little less than half a million inhabitants live in Bratislava, so it is not an overcrowded city...and it seems a nice place to live in.

So close to Vienna and not so far from the capital of Hungary (Budapest), Bratislava is a nice stop and pleasant surprise in my European city trip book. :))
