SmartCash & SmartNode Update

in #smartcash6 years ago (edited)

SmartCash has been a wild ride these last few months as a SmartNode operator.

SmartCash ran from its recent bottom of 900sats all the way back to 3000sats over the last few weeks. Over 100% gains were made if you timed it right. There was a brief moment were Smart was trading at $0.06, and 10,000 Smart for a SmartNode could have been purchased for only $600. That same node would be worth $2400 now, and you would be in line for node rewards

I've been following Smart for around 6 months now ever since it was around 580sats. I think the 2000-3000sats range will be a nice consolidation range for the project. That's where it was trading before the unrealistic spike that happened in January due to exchange issues followed by a dump in the overall crypto market.

The team just announced a large fiat to smart exchange that can be used to spend your Smart indirectly with any merchant in Brazil that accepts card payments. There is even a cool wristband with an NFC chip that you can preload Fiat onto with your Smart. That opens the door for around 2.5million merchants in that country alone.

General Bytes, a crypto ATM manufacturer, recently updated its GitHub with code for enabling SmartCash. I am not sure when or if this while go live in a mass scale, but the possibility of Smart at any General Bytes ATM is extremely exciting to me.

It was just announced that Smart was added to the TradeSatoshi exchange. It is also trading on HitBTC & CryptoBridge. CryptoBridge is a decentralized exchange that allows you to minimize your counterparty risk while trading.

I've had a SmartNode up and running pretty much since the initial launch in January. I have had absolutely no problem keeping my node online. The only time my node was offline was during the mandatory wallet update and even that was a breeze.

A proposal funded the creation of this SmartNodeMonitor that allows me to check my nodes stats while I'm out and about either with discord or telagram. Below is the command 'history' that shows some of the long term stats.

28% ROI in a little over three months, and I don't think this takes into consideration SmartRewards from hodling.

Keep in mind that past results are not a good way to predict future results. As more nodes come online and the block height increases, payout amounts decrease. I was lucky enough to get in at the start.

This 'detail' command is great to periodically check your position in the payment queue and to make sure your node is still enabled and online.

As you can see at the time of this screenshot my position was 273, which is in the payment zone. Basically you have to get in the top 10% of the queue to be eligible for payments and then it is a lottery system I believe. You can see the duration between my payments currently is 11 days.

I actually received a reward while typing this post out. All in divine timing.

Just to give you an idea of how payouts have declined, this payout is for 169Smart and originally it was around 220Smart per payment and the frequency was around every 3days.

Here we have a screenshot of the 'info' command which gives the stats of the overall SmartNode network. 11K enabled nodes is amazing!

That's all for today. I will continue to post updates as the process unfolds.

Great article. I like the latest bot update with the history function. Looking at your history, you are one of the smartnode pioneer.

There are major issues with SmartCash that are NOT being transparently and proactively communicated to the public, potential investors or existing holders.

Summary:
There is an bug in SmartCash 1.1.1 code that has not been fixed for over 3 months
Someone is actively exploiting the bug to steal hundreds of thousands to millions of SmartCash from mining rewards.
SmartCash moderators censor and ban members that speak of the exploit.
SmartCash community members do not have power to vote on SmartCash development. They can only vote on proposals.

Thanks for sharing the info. I am always open to discussions. I wrote about the zerocoin exploit back in January. A lot of projects using zercoin tech had exploits. I also have written about the node payout scheduling issue which has been made less bad but still has problems. They keep promising it will be out soon with version 1.2, but they have been saying that for 4 months now. They have been paying SmartNodes that entire time even though SmartNodes arent even providing any extra features such as InstantPay and obfuscation. Are they even really masterndoes or are they simply paying people to run full nodes on centralized VPS's?

I am not familiar with the mining issue simply because I've never personally mined it. Please link me to the transaction IDs of the mining exploited payouts if you know them off hand. I will check out your blog and those links more in depth a bit later and maybe respond more there.

Centralized forums have the right to be moderated in my opinion. The same thing goes for the reddit Bitcoin forum "censorship" issue. If you want censorship resistant forums, use decentralized forums like we are right now.
