El Covid es un virus que ha ocasionado muchas muertes en el mundo, quién lo contrae presenta una gran variedad de síntomas que pueden durar meses o años afectando la vida de la persona. En mi opinión este virus llegó para quedarse entre nosotros y la mejor manera de prevenir el contagio o de aminorar los síntomas es aplicarse la vacuna y seguir tomando medidas de seguridad, como colocarse el tapabocas.
En mi ciudad Maracaibo este año las personas parecen que ya han olvidado que el Covid todavía está presente, pocas personas toman las medidas de bioseguridad necesarias para evitar el contagio, en las calles todo parece normal como si nada hubiera ocurrido, qué rápido olvidamos. Esto ocurre hasta en sitios de alto riesgo como en los hospitales y ambulatorios, pocas personas usan el tapabocas.
Como ya les había contado mi hija está en último año de medicina, ella tiene que asistir a sus prácticas en los diferentes hospitales y ambulatorios de la ciudad, es una persona con alto riesgo de contagio. Muchos de sus compañeros de estudio ya han contraído el Covid y algunos todavía sufren las secuelas, presentan lo que llaman Long Covid. Es por ello que mi hija siempre está pendiente de sus vacunas, no solo las del Covid sino también se ha colocado todo el esquema de vacunación para una persona adulta.
Ayer muy temprano fuimos al ambulatorio cerca de mi casa y nos colocamos la última dosis de la vacuna del Covid, nos habían dicho que ya había llegado al ambulatorio y aprovechamos la oportunidad de inmediato, solo estábamos nosotras para recibir la vacuna, así que no tuvimos que esperar y salimos a los minutos de haber llegado. Ahora me siento más tranquila porque mi hija está más protegida y ya tiene todas las dosis del Covid, sin embargo ella siempre sigue le protocolo estricto de bioseguridad en los hospitales.
