The future of youth is the future of the country: Aung San Suu Kyi

in #speech7 years ago

Aung San Suu Kyi symbolizes the democratic movement of Myanmar (Burma). Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1991. Birth Rangoon, 19 June 1945 Bachelor of Philosophy, Politics and Economics from St. Hughes College, Oxford, 1969 Suu Kyi came to fight for the liberation of the Burmese democracy in 1988, returning home from England. That is why he was under house arrest. He has spent 15 years in his 21 years in prison. 13 November, 2010, released from homeowners On 12 June 1999, in the convocation of the University of Bancel in Pennsylvania, the following address was read by Burton Lewin, former US Ambassador to Burma (1987-90). It is a matter of great pride to get the award of merit from the University of Bacon. It is also very proud to get opportunity to speak at the university's convocation ceremony. The convocation ceremony is a great moment for any university. Here are the meetings of university teachers and other members and students and their families. To convince the students to successfully complete the academic training of several years, they are all gathered in the convocation. Hey Graduates, you know, warm congratulations. My own country Burma (Myanmar) Most of the students who graduated high school were unfortunate, unbelievably impossible to dream of a university degree When a movement for democracy began to be suppressed by the army in 1988, higher education has begun in Burma since then. By the end of 1996, students of Rangoon University demonstrated the annihilation of the education system, through the movement. The university is closed for this. Those who belong to a noble family, they may be able to take higher education abroad. But thousands of Burmese youth are deprived of higher education. But they do not have any crime. Turning off university in Burma is a sign of disappointment. Due to which a country of skilled manpower and natural resources has become impoverished in education, socially unstable and poor people in the economy. The main reason for this frustration is the junta. In 1988, the Burmese people went to the movement for democracy. The move was to expose the ruling party's ruling Burmese Socialist Program Party three decades ago. The Burmese, aware of their destination, wanted a government that day, the government's accountability to the people. In order to form such a government they voted in the 1990 election. The junta ignores the outcome of the election and violates the promise of peaceful transfer of power. Since then, people have to fight for fundamental rights, freedom and security of life. Especially young people are struggling for knowledge. Is this claim not justified that the young people of the world have the right to study at university like all the youth? According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Section 26 of the United Nations, "Everyone has the right to education." The section also says, "In the development of personality / development, respect for human rights and the fundamental freedoms of people need education. Educate and increase tolerance and friendship between the nations, culture and religion of the world will help. And will cooperate with the United Nations program to protect peace. According to the Universal Human Rights Charter, how is it possible to take education in a country, in which the fundamental rights and freedoms of the people are reduced and that there is no importance of people's opinion in the country, but it is a kind of fear and hatred that has been introduced to foreigners? Unintentional education system is not a political issue in the countries where there are suitable logical governments for the development of the people. The syllabus, institutional standards, administration and money management can be open to discussion and debate and that should be the case. Without any interruption, young people can continue their studies from small school to university, this should be the most important in a society and its political infrastructure. It will not be necessary to claim that education is right. So ask those people who have assembled this convocation, and think about my country. Children and their parents struggle only for primary education. Think about problems with our youth, whose intellectual practices have been discontinued. I think the future of the youth is dark, the future of the country is a dark darkness. Education is not just institutional achievement. The Universal Human Rights Charter says, "Education is the ability to understand others, tolerance and friendship." These are the main components of protecting world peace. I have seen it again, this idea and other principles that help us to be human, enough to overcome our weaknesses. Burma's long 140-year friendship with the University of Bacon In spite of the many contradictions in internal political and international relations, for more than a century, unwavering ties between a United States University and a Southeast Asian country prove that respect for love and love and friendship between us continue. As much as possible, Bacon has shown friendship for Burma. Our country and its people, along with history, culture, politics and other problems stood beside Baconel. This is to build mutual partnerships by ignoring the geographical boundaries and cultural differences, from the mentality of understanding each other and helping them in danger. I deeply believe that a day will come when the people of Burma will also build mutual partnership with different people of the world. In today's convocation, people of my country are present, I hope they will show the world that peace is one, we are united to establish Burma as a truly developing nation. Tolerance, sympathy, justice will be in Burma. The light of education will blossom.Zhang_Ziyi_Cabourg_2014_2.jpg_85422515_hi028870332.jpgShu_Qi_Cannes_2015.jpg
