A well educated and engaged populace is the death knell of all religion.
Moreover, it IS the birthing chamber for Collective Spirituality.
Collective Spirituality is the default belief those in a collective automatically engender. Like wearing clothes, everyone in the Human Collective, for the most part, believe everyone within the collective should cover themselves. This is an automatic belief we inculcate into our kids simply by demonstrating it daily, a daily ritual being getting dressed. Obvious right? How is this a belief? Do you take a shower/bath fully clothed?
All religions are unique languages and have unique lexicons, indeed, they are stylized languages that transcend language barriers, in some ways, while creating barriers in others.
Lexicons are uniquely constructed sets of words and utterances that have ascribed meaning to them. Like, "Yo," spoken within the English Lexicon is an informal greeting. Spoken within the Spanish lexicon the term means "I," a personal pronoun. Every language speaker has a uniquely constructed lexicon they use to explain their inner and outer worlds. Most operative words we pick up before we know who we are; from ages 1 - 5. Like, go, stop, come, no, yes, right, left, wrong.
Catholicism spoken in the French, German, Spanish, English tongue all sound considerably different phonetically yet the message transcends individual colloquialistic morphing of commonly shared religious terms. Of course there are names and places that for the most part are similar phonetic sounds.
Rituals are considered elaborate words or symbols, gaining contextual weight within the specific regional language it is Spoken in; performed.
Symbolic actions such as covering your mouth when you are surprised, flipping someone off, literally showing someone where they can "shove it;" all are symbolic actions that, depending on the culture, have ascribed meanings. Such as the previously mentioned Flipping of a finger. There are similar symbolic actions utilized by differing culture groups that have wildly differing meanings.
For example, in the US if someone holds their hand directly out and parallel to their body, this cultural-specific symbolic action means "Stop."
However, in Iraq this action means "Proceed." The US military, tragically, learned this only after killing several Iraqi civilians who mistook the American sign for "Stop" with their culture-specific symbolic action of "Proceed". Unfortunate for all involved, especially those who lost their lives.
An example of a ritual/symbolic action is the Holy Sacrament having many words and symbolic actions associated with the ritual process but when done in combination are considered as one symbol; The Holy Sacrament.
The dominant culture that practices a specific religion may have a particular way of performing a religious ritual, other sects within the same religion may perform differently in other locations. For example, the Holy Sacrament in Italy serves real wine, where in most American Catholic Churches serve grape juice. The difference is minor but not to the minors of Italy! Saluti!
Languages upon languages are accessible now and all are, and alway have been, training Us how to commune with Spirit, our spirit and The Spirit, within increasing amounts of clarity.
Christian, Islam, Buddhist, Jew; these are all specific languages One can learn to create along side the Creator. Sadly, some teach their language as the only true tongue of an Infinite Intelligence. But, as we see today, All of us are creating life into this plane of existence while utilizing different languages to do so. This implies there is a fundamental language that still operates unencumbered by these seemingly superfluous disparities. Creation, Existence rather, continues with or without our direct input. Even if the Universe imploded; Existence would still carry on in whatever form required.
The Creator speaks to all of us without words but in subtle experiences meant only for our, eyes and Eye!!
The Creator speaks in complete thought-forms, complete ideas coupled with feelings provoking a response, inculcating instantly, meaning and understanding. Like an intricate Energetic Key(DNA), The Creator speaks "Your" heart language, because It can speak to you on your fundamental channel, broadcasting on your Energetic Key.
Your Key to living in this world is, in fact, your DNA. Your specifically constructed DNA molecule receives Light and through transduction metabolizes this light(light we cannot see) into a physical representation of the energetic stimulus; your physical body. I use the term metabolize in reference to how the energy is consumed through the process. You do this automagically. No conscious effort, on this level or reality, is necessary for your body to collect, compile, and act upon this invisible substance.
A quick aside, there is far more light waves than the ones we see as our entire world. Light waves with less energy traveling under our perception, and, light waves traveling and vibrating so quickly they are above our awareness. We can feel light waves below our perception depending on how close we are to the stimulus. Placing a hand next to a fire vs a hand 20 meters from a fire, some may still be able to feel the radiant heat(infrared light waves) but most will move closer to feel the warmth of invisible light bathing the body.
Inside your heart you may feel the urge to change something about yourself, your neighborhood, your city/state/country, your environment; at some point we all have felt this urge to Love without reward. To give to a "stranger," a person you don't know and don't wanna know, to give your best time and effort to someone else, without reward, for the sake of bringing Love into the World.
I Digress...
A call to 'Be a Good Person,' is within All of Us, it is an operable mechanism we base our entire faith in "Freedom" on.
We individually and collectively trust that when we go into public spaces we are "Free" to do as we wish.(Under specific guidelines that All must abide by) We trust that others will abide by the same set of rules. This is a uniquely "Western" viewpoint. There are some countries that still behead people regularly, in public squares, and, people congregate to watch. There is a spectrum for comfortability held within the concept of being "Free." Those people at the public executions feel free enough to attend, but those being beheaded will experience the spectacle drastically different; so, being "Free," depends on your proximal location to socio-political entities and your socio-religious heritage. Location, Location, Location; defines who's Free.
This blog is directed towards those that identify with Western idealistic "Freedom." This implies implicit tolerance for All Religious Languages. Those who are in the right location enjoy access to individual Religious Language and tolerance when speaking it in public spaces. This is also directed towards specific religions that claim to be the ONLY word of God(fundamental documents all written by men).
Choose whichever Religious Language befits your intellect and your comfort level.
Do shop around, however, being frugal with that which is purchased with your 'time.'
Be careful when reducing the Creator's tongue into human senses, shoring off the seemingly un-sensible, the unknowable, the unseeable, the un- be -able, because currently employed language have no words for what is being expressed. If God is Everything, how then do we account for "Nothing"?
An Infinite Being is oft made finite by the prowess of individual intellect and their emerging ability to speak. Preachers, Pastors, Ministers, Priests, Monks, ... etc, have a nascent predilection for speaking FOR GOD, from the mouth of God, from the pulpit, instead of, in place of, in direct contravention to, speaking for themselves, only. The limitations of their chosen languages are found in the defining of what's Infinite, which must expand to encompass infinite change or be tossed aside. No definition of an infinite being will be true forever.
In any attempt to 'know' do not quell turbulent waves of wisdom which seem to overfill the shallow depths of current and comfortable "knowledge". Ride these waves of self-discovery into a brand new sense of self. Find the portions of your belief, your inner and external language, that are self-serving, self-denying, self-aggrandizing; making new words for yourself, and others, to find more definition within/without your finite self. Choose your words wisely.
Finding the break in turbulence is where on can mount and ride on the waves of change. The fundamental truth presiding over the knowable Universe is "Change." The waves of change are constant, consistent, and is something one can truly rely upon.
To birth spirituality into one's life is a product of personnel investment and development. Invest in yourself with focused intention. Whatever language used is immaterial to the process of becoming spiritual. Once contact is made with your internal spirit, all languages become equally useful given the intention is to learn how to communicate with more effective and focused intent.
All religious languages that require complete and total allegiance should be considered with respect but great discernment. Do NOT drink ANY cool-aid! Some looking for a cloistered cult of personality find the architecture of modern religious practices very conducive for scamming and scheming true, but young, believers out of their sanctimonious sovereignty. Example, Example, Example
There is no end to the Spirit knowing Itself, so, to limit this *infinince by cultivating a religious dogma that advertises a single and only path to walk on forever is preposterous on its surface, and in its methods. All directions must be considered. All ideas cultivated. 100 percent of The Creation is accessible to those ready to see and experience it, because, there is only The Creator, and we are only a portion of it.
All Share space where all can use different languages to find Peace and Tranquility from what seems to be a cruel cruel world. It is my contention that we need more spirit and less religion, more love and less judgement, more acceptance and less condemnation.
Be in your body.
Sense out your environment.
Collect, Compile, and Create a Belief Structure that benefits you, AND, everyone else.
