The Importance Of Deep Meaningful Relationships

If you’re one of those who are not interested in talking or knowing about what’s wrong with society and only like to know about the good things in life and how life is beautiful, that it's all peace and love and namaste, and you're happy with how society is, maybe you already solved everything in your life that needed to be solved and you're now loving in paradise. But as much as I also like to be an optimist, then somehow... you’re not living in a reality that is affecting everyone. How can we discern what is wrong from what is not? Basically by being conscious of what is preventing us from having a sensation of freedom. This doesn’t mean we should just do whatever we want until eventually we turn into criminals, it’s deeper than that, even more so because freedom to some means someone else looses it. So it’s a collective thing and it’s about being free to do what’s best for the greater good of all. This is caring about our future and humanity’s evolution as a species, living in harmony with nature and doing pro-life endeavors. This article is not about talking bad of other people, it’s about addressing issues that need to become a part of the collective consciousness rather than of the unconsciousness.

Addictions. From the most obvious and well known drug addictions plaguing humanity for who knows how long, to the more inconspicuous types of addiction the fact is that we still have so many more than we think we do or know. I can give a personal example. This one, if you’re a vegan or vegetarian you certainly already noticed it, how members of your own family or friends go on to the grocery store or even when you go eat out, and all they care about is "where's the meat"? They just have to have meat every single day. They don’t even notice this addiction, it’s normal for them, they grew up doing it and they always will. Yes, I took my time into transforming myself into a vegetarian in a family like this, but now for them I’m an alien.

We have so many addictions, some more subtle than others, like working, exercising, swearing, talking out too loud for attention, there’s even a spiritual obsession running rampart these days, anger addiction, binge watching movie series, tanning addiction, blackberry (yes the cell phone) addiction, cosmetic surgery, consumption of ice or iced drinks, funeral addiction..., cracking knuckles of the hands, teeth whitening… and so many others we are not aware of.

But what is it that does make for an addiction to be recognized as an addiction? Is it only when it’s too much to the point it actually hurts us? And can something that everyone does be considered an addiction? Like not being able to stay away from their mobile phones for 5 minutes when there's not a real need to use it? Because if everyone does it than surely it can’t be that bad right? Of course there’s no addiction involved there, "I’m normal just like everyone else". What about lying? Is it lying compulsively more an addiction than just telling one and only big lie during a whole year that will force us to support it with other half-truths or "minor" lies?

And why all these addictions?
