How To: Get Cheap POWER!

Tricks and Tips for Effectively Using the CP Bid Tool

There's a couple of effective tricks to use with the CP Bid in order to get very cheap rentals- LARGE cards are, generally, cheaper per CP and setting your Bid Level at a decent interval.

FIRST- Get Registered

Getting setup to use the CP Bid Tool is a 3-step process, itself, but ultimately- worth it
Step 1- Get the Hive Keychain (https://hive-keychain.com/#download) then load your Posting and Memo Keys into it.
Step 2- Signup for @peak-monsters (https://peakmonsters.com/) their site is GREAT on many levels, other than making 'Renting for Power' cheaper, easier and faster.
Step 3- Register to use the Auto-Bids Function.

  • Click this button: CPbid_Button.png
  • This window will open:
    CPbid_Grant Rental Authority.png
Once you confirm- those @peak-monsters accounts will be able to act as 'bots' for you.

Now, you're all set- to get started

Click on the 'Configure CP Bid' button, again. This time it will open up a different window:
CPbids_Config.png
(No, it won't have all those circles on it)
The spots circled in RED are all information for you to fill out- we'll ignore those, for now.
The listings circled in BLUE is all valuable information that PeakMonsters gives you, to help you set your CP Bids at a decent rate.
The tabs circled in YELLOW allow you to view other areas of the CP Bid market.

Data Circled in Blue

is KEY to getting the CHEAPEST Power, Fast.
The 'Remaining' data shows you how much CP those bids are looking for (8-15K, in this case)
The 'Bid Rate' column shows you how much CP the bids are for (per DEC). Higher bids (less CP/DEC) are always placed higher and given higher priority by the bots. In this example- the 498 bid would be filled before the 499 bids, even if the price on the card is 499 CP/DEC or 600 CP/DEC or 1,000 CP/DEC- the 498 bid gets first 'shot' at it. So pricing your bid at less CP/DEC means it gets filled, first (ie. 497 or 498)
BUT- what if the card is BIGGER than 15,250 CP?

That's where the 'tabs' circled in Yellow come in

Click over to the 15K+ tab, you'll see that the bids.... look a little different.
CPbids_15K+.png
That's right- if a card is listed and it's over 15K Power, the 'low' CP bid is 650 CP/DEC! The next 'highest' bid (after that 20K bid drops below 15K)? 720 CP/DEC- almost 33% cheaper than the bids on the first tab!
Looking at the the third tab, gives an even more interesting view:
CPbids_50K+.png
There, we see Active bids for between 60-250K CP at a time- at rates from 1,200-1,400 CP/DEC!!!! THAT is CHEAP Power! a more than 50% discount to what the first tab was saying is 'Market Price'!

Back to the spots circled in Red

This is where you fill in:
How much CP you want per DEC (CP/DEC)
How much CP you want (Min)
What's the smallest card you want (Min per card)

Now, for me, I'm starting an account at 0 CP and 0 rating and I'm planning on ranking it up, as fast as I can.
Since I plan on reaching 1,900 in the next 24hrs, I'm going to want 70K+ in power- so I can Advance to Silver I without needing to rent anymore Power.
Since I want this CP FAST- I'll put 649 in the CP/DEC spot.
Since I want ~70K Power at this rate (or better) I'll put 70K in the Min spot (I put 80K down for Max, as a little extra is better than not enough)
AND, since I don't want a bunch of little cards clogging up my account- I put 500 as 'Min per card'.

Another little 'Tip'

Do this FIRST- before you rent any of the cards you plan on, you know, actually... playing.
That way, while you are RENTING UP! to start your climb up the ladder- @peak-monsters is renting you all the CP you'll need.
By the time you hit Bronze I- you'll already have 5K in Power.
By the time you hit Silver III- you'll already have 15K in Power.
By the time you are about to Advance to Silver I.... you should already have 70K in Power.
AND- all of it will be CHEAP.

How did I do?

Well, to give you a hint- this is a couple of the cards the PeakMonsters' bots found for me, the last time I used the CP Bids Tool:
CP Bids- What I Got.png
That's right- 130K Power at the rate of 700 CP/DEC (I was going from Silver I to Diamond at the time). Expensive? maybe- but you should see what I earned on that trip through Gold! Also, that's WAY less than bidding 500 CP/DEC and getting a little bit, every time I want to advance a Tier or a League.

Thank you for sharing your experience using the rental bot market on Peakmonster.
I got amazing cheap cards on the rental market applying the tips your article described in detail.
Peace

I’ve been doing using this tool for the last week and it truly reduces power renting costs by a lot. Glad you made this in an depth post so more people can use this strategy.

Thanks!
It's helped me a LOT.
