What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a Play2Earn game, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting SPS tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). Sometimes you may even win a 5 cards packs with your rewards. You can also get rewards from staking the SPS you got from rewards, or by owning a node licence (4 Vouchers and 22 SPS daily this week), or from owning Nightmare packs (the Tower Defence game) or Land NFTs. Bonus, if you stake SPS, until October 2023, for a whole year, you will receive daily GLS tokens airdropped to use on the Genesis League game, which can be also staked now for extra rewards.
Right now you can still buy NFT packs from Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers collections. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs.
The Gem Meteor is an Epic Neutral Unit, with Scattershot at level 1 and Piercing at level 5, ignoring Armor to destroy other cards than the main tank. At max level 6 it has 4 Ranged damage, 5 Speed and 5 Health, for only a 5 Mana cost. One of my favourite cards to play combined with Yodin Zaku, for and extra +1 Ranged damage. It is also ignoring Taung, making it useful on some low mana battles, but also on rulesets like the one letting Ranged units to attack from the first position.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:

Rulesets: Standard - no rulesets used.
Teams:
Mine - Summoner: My strategy was to use Waka Spiritblade to give all cards chance to poison, with 2 high Health cards in front - Cursed Windeku as main tank, returning damage with Thorns, and Arachne Thug with Reach, to attack from the second position. Then, I maximized the chance to poison the opponent cards using Maggots with Opportunity, Undead Badger with Sneak, Death Elemental with Snipe, and Gem Meteor with Scattershot, to attack at random.
Opponent - Summoner: The opponent used General Sloan, boosting Ranged attack by +1, with Blinding Relfector as a tank, and Pelacor Conjurer to back up, Venari Crystalsmith to heal, Djinn Renova to boost their health by +1, a Gargoya Devil for damage, and a Celestial Harpy last to defend the army.
Round 1 - The Gem Meteor attacked and poisoned the Crystalsmith. The Maggots poisoned the Harpy, Harpy retaliated and kill the Maggots. Other hits were exchanged. Round 2 - The Harpy died from Poison. Death Elemental poisoned the Conjurer, the Badger poisoned the Reflector. My Thug killed the Reflector. A miss on Gargoya Devil. Renova kills my tank. Round 3 - The Crystalsmith dies poisoned. Gem Meteor poisoned Renova, My Thug killed the Conjurer. His Gargoya Devil killed my Thug. Game is becoming interesting. Round 4 - The Gem Meteor poisoned the Devil. Devil kills my Badger, Renova kills my Death Elemental and dies poisoned. Round 5 - Renova dies poisoned, the Devil got 1 health left, damage 2 out of 5 Health of my immortal Gem Meteor. Round 6 - The Devil dies poisoned. I won just by a chance or two.
