Weekly Challenge - Wave Runner

And... we are back! This is certainly one of the key things that I look forward to every single week! Seriously couldn't get enough of this man!

So today, we have Wave Runner! This week's challenge is pretty easy as I have this monster in one of my go-to strategy. But first of all, time to show about this monster!

I have a Level 2 Wave Runner. But to be honest, a Level 1 Wave Runner works perfectly fine as well. With 5 mana, what I capitalise on is it's health and the "Reach" ability, allowing it to perform Meelee damage even from the 2nd position instead of the 1st position. This is exceptionally useful in my lineup, which I will show in a minute. And now, the lineup!

As you can see, other than a Legendary Summoner which I rented, all the other cards are normal cards and not legendary cards! Lir Deepswimmer is my summoner, giving my monsters +2 Shield and "Return Fire", allowing them to damage the opponent monster if damaged by a ranged attack. Lir Deepswimmer also gives the opponent monsters "Blind", making their attack rate to decrease.

Now the strategy is as follows. My first monster would be a Meelee monster that is able to sustain a high amount of damage, or that can last long. The main damage dealer for this lineup are the 4 ranged monsters (yes 4!). Normally, having ranged monsters means that they are very squishy when they are the 1st Monster and that they lose their attacking ability. Yes, it is true and the solution is, finish the opponent quickly or be finished. Now here comes Wave Runner, at the 2nd position. Not only is he able to attack from the 2nd position, it can also continue to attack when the 1st monster is dead. Just to put this strategy into perspective, assuming no damage inflicted through "Return Fire", per turn this lineup is able to dish out 16 damage. Yes, SIXTEEN! This is my go to lineup whenever possible. As you can see from this match, my opponent is actually a healing lineup. Meaning that had it not been for the insane amount of damage my lineup can dish out every turn, there will be absolutely no way I could have win this match

So now, Wave Runner. It is actually a pretty fine card. Unlike the other weekly challenge, I have absolutely no problems with the usage of the featured monster. It complements well in my strategy, able to attack from the 2nd position and take the place of the tank when the 1st monster is down.

Hands down YES! I love the Wave Runner, and would definitely use this card! In fact, I have been and will continue to use Wave Runner through this particular lineup for my future matches!
