I’ll be sharing a series of quick-and-easy deck blueprints for the complete Splinterlands beginner. This will cover a starter deck for each Splinter using only the free starter set of cards. I’ll try to add a few suggestions for low cap mana and high cap mana battles too. Some of those alternatives might be cards you need to buy, no need to do so but the might slice up your game life a bit.
This time out in the Splinterlands Starter Deck Series is the Death Splinter.
The Summoner and the Strategy
Out of the two free starter summoners we’ll be picking Zintar Mortalis for this deck. This deck aims to neuter the enemy monsters, making them into little walking sticks of meat-ready-to-eat for your zombie horde.
Zintar is great for this due to his ability to give -1 Attack to enemy monsters, making your army of Undead even more resilient.

1st Card (Tank): Haunted Spirit
The Haunted Spirit is your great basic go to tank. Decent Attack and Speed, quite good Health and the Heal ability makes sure this restless dead stays in the game for a bit longer.

High mana cap alternative
The Undead Rexx is a good alternative for higher mana cap battles. Higher Health and a lot better Attack. You’ll have to buy this card on the market, though, so if you’re just starting out, go with the Haunted Spirit.

2nd Card: Spineback Wolf
The Spineback Wolf is a great second card. Quite possibly one of the quickest monsters around. It’s Attack is a bit weak, but it’s very high Speed allow it to dodge a lot of attacks and the Spineback Wolf will keep jumping in to chip away at the enemy.
The Middle
Here is where you’ll fill up on any and all damage dealers that you’ll afford.

The Maggots are a quite decent monster with Opportunity. It goes in the middle of your deck and from there it can attack due to Opportunity, and it will target the enemy with the lowest health.

The Undead Badger is cheap and good. Using Sneak it attacks the enemy monster in the last position.

2nd To Last Card: Undead Priest
Here comes more debuffs. The Undead priest is a cheap card that reduces the Health of all enemy monsters by -1. Combined with Zintars debuff you’ll get enemies with lower health that deals less Melee damage to your monsters.

Last Card: Twisted Jester
The Twisted Jester is wicked good. It has enough health to be a decent protector in last position. It’s good Speed and Attack means that it’ll hurt your enemies and it’s hurt them fast. It’s Snipe ability allows it to attack enemy monsters that are not in the first position.
Using this blueprint will get you started rattling the bones with the Death splinter in no time. Once you get comfortable with the thought process of basic deck building, you might be interested in investing in a few Death cards. This deck is just a good place to start, due to only using the free starter set of cards.
