African rallying is all about endurance because terrain there is always very rough and teams used to test there for months just to be prepared for that WRC events as much as possible.
After all that testings and rallies they would use the set-up and suspension developed for African rallies for all the gravel rallies until the end of that season.
1980's are legendary firstly because of the legendary group B in rallying and great cars with almost 500bhp under the bonnet.
