After the first five rounds of matches in the EPL, the two Manchester clubs sit at the top of the table. Although it's too early to draw any conclusions because just five matches isn't enough to decide the position a team will ultimately finish at the end of the 2017/2018 season, nevertheless it does show us some strengths and weaknesses of the teams. The season is a marathon race, which in most times doesn't depend on how an athlete starts the race. To win, you need strength, perseverance, agility and other qualities. We'll be taking a look at each team, from the big six to the rest of the teams.
ARSENAL
Arsenal has started this season in a typical fashion we all know them for (Inconsistency). one particular area they've been poor so far is the defense (porous, leaking, abysmal, you can use whatever adjectives that comes to mind). Conceded 8 goals so far, 3 against leicester city in their first match of the season, 1 against stoke a match they lost and 4 against liverpool fc.
They have conceded same with crystal palace at the bottom of the table, and 2 short of Everton that has conceded the most goals so far. Although they'd manage to shut out Chelsea in their last match, there still remain work to be done for any progress to be made.
Their attack seems pretty much okay, but yet to work together as a unit. In all fairness to them, they were probably distracted by the Alexis Sanchez's transfer saga, which has gone down for now but doesn't seem to be over.
Expect them to kick off their season now properly, although not expecting them to mount a serious challenge for the title. So many reasons for this exertion, one of them being their inconsistency, another being their involvement in europa league.
