Steemit Clone Wars
Ever since steem blockchain, a system based on blogging, was released there was a possibility of copying it. The initial idea is good, people can earn by writing. Later on, it proved to be solid ground for developing various apps. People saw the potential and went for it.
Since the code is public it is not difficult to copy it. An avid developer or two are enough to create entirely self-sufficient clone blockchains and it is already happening. Clones are growing like mushrooms after the rain. What was Steem exclusive now became Weku, Scorum and Whaleshares. The ones that come to mind first.
However, let's not forget that the Steem was the first and has an enormous membership. This will be hard to tackle by any of the newly formed clones and semi-clones. Especially if, due to the growing competition, Steem inc. starts doing proper hardforks that happen without rendering the entire blockchain inoperable for a week. :D

Steem also needs a serious marketing division. It was easy to bring people on in times of monopoly and the steem price high. Now, with the new playground, free for all, it will be an entirely different ball game in need of a far superior approach. So, guys, developing aside and start hiring marketing people who will keep the business afloat and constantly keep steem one step ahead of others.
It is not only developing that counts, but this project is also about people and their thoughts processes, not so much about lining the code anymore. If it ever was...
Therefore, we believe that the rise of clones might be beneficial for Steem if the situation is approached from the correct angle and we are eagerly awaiting future developments.

I think it imitates only what is good and what is succeeding. Hence the number of platforms that seek to follow in steemit's footsteps. One way or another that's good, not only for steemit, but also for the number of people looking to monetize their creative work. The fact that you have many possibilities to show your work, is an advantage. The problem is if they start migrating, because of circumstances that are not relevant, people from steemit to these other platforms and start leaving "the house alone". That's a risk! I think Steemit has grown and consolidated with the last movements it has made, although we can't see it immediately. In this platform we can find groups that are doing an excellent job supporting projects and the community. Groups in which we feel at home and among friends. ADSactly is one of those groups. Excellent! Clones will always be clones... never as good as the original...In my eyes essentially a community where you can post content, have discussions, and feel a sense of belonging. Steemit may be the undisputed champion when it comes to sheer numbers but there’s a lot of viable alternatives worth checking out.
YEA WE NEED TO PUT SEPARATE DIVISION OR DEPARTMENT TO HANDEL AND TO GROW .
why should not we have sales and marketing,
why not we have creative department , product analysis department , IT department which could handle IT related issues.
we have to hire staff for our promotion for steem
I don’t mind the clones they can prove to be grounds for experiments that may be a little risky for steemit they can try out! I think even with dapps and clones eventually they will all help produce a product that absorbs all the best parts of each product to create a superior version of itself and give the end user a powerful and versatile blockchain experience!

I'd like to see annoying personalized ads popping up on Steemit. That way I'd know the developers are making a tangible profit other than hoarding and selling Steem. I love this place but there's that constant nagging voice in the back of my head saying this is a house of cards that's just waiting to fall.
It is all about competition in any business...You can't just implement your project and let it be only yours...They are guys out there who wanna see the success of it, and eventually venture into the same line. Hence, the competition. I think Steemit is still the best. 👏👏
Clones will definitely be clones, for I'm sure they can't beat the rich.
I even heard of a clone like that smoke.io
Clones must exist remember if nobody talks about steem and about cloning it then steem is as good as nothing!.

The clones are really getting many and this might make Steemit Inc to come up with a strategy that will propel Steem to the moon.
It will be real competition if some of those clone tokens get on exchanges!

Steemit was the first one and it has over 1 million active users. This is a huge business advantage, but we still need more people inside so I agree with you guys

They need to get their interface up to scratch or at least take the public focus off steemit (and onto steempeak.com and busy.org etc). Here is hoping. The reality is that the issues we are dealing with here (spam, scalibility, small control of the majority of coins , etc) will have to be dealt with on those other platforms when they get to the same age of maturity.
