RE: What is the #1 change needed for Steem - Win $20+ upvote

in #steem6 years ago

Technically, these are two things, but they sort of go hand in hand.

Dead Witnesses need to lose their votes and STINC needs to stop being the gatekeeper for many things. Only then can more changes be pushed through in terms of development.

Sort:

Totally agree that Dead Witnesses need to be removed from their positions. It doesn't make sense for them to be there if they're not contributing anymore. (Maybe even reinstating them if they choose to come back!)

It certainly makes it difficult for Witnesses that want to do something from climbing the ranks.

This is completely true. The development process is completely backwards for what is supposed to be an open source project. These forks are all mediocre to terrible.

And that really keeps Steem back because all the great ideas mentioned in this thread can happen if we knock out what keeps them from even being experimented on in the first place.

Do we want to cater to investors with @neoxian model like @meno described? Sure, let's see.

Do we want to try out better curation approach by tackling the codes? Why not?

I mean, Steemit being in beta is a reflection of the entire blockchain. One of the slowest beta I have ever seen in my life.
