RE: Announcing: Invest in Steem Social Media Blast Day - How can you help?

in #steem6 years ago
Most Witnesses aren't even working on STEEM or have anything to do with it. When I look at an account like @furion he is just working on other projects but stacking up STEEM Power by the hour and then delegating that power to upvote bots to earn more.

Wait, thats typical democracy problems, representatives - after achieving power, want to stay in power no mater what, and it ends up with corruption, and detachment from society needs lie we observe all ofver the world. Im new, You guys want to tell me that steem isn't secured from that? Is there a mechanism to take Witness out of the role if he/she stop working on the project ? If not, How can we promote such a project?! - in the end majority of them will only take and do nothing

It isn't entirely secure from that issue. That is why Vote Decay was added to EOS Block Producer voting to mitigate that type of issue.

In theory if people aren't doing much then we can call it into question and people would unvote for those witnesses but more often than not that doesn't take place. A lot of people just stick in place and since they have powerful votes they just hang out there.

There could be the vote decay and a situation where they rotate out but SURPRISE..... none of the people in power like my ideas!!! Ultimately it won't get added to this blockchain.
