You may be surprised if you don't know about SBD price spike yet. It is trading between $6 and $7 on exchanges. @bradydutton and @kingscrown have shared useful posts on some of the opportunities of making profit. Do check them out. I'll share my strategy too.
Everybody knows that SBD is pegged to $1 and has to come back to that value. Nobody knows when.
Or may be only some Steemians know that and the external investors and traders are oblivious to this fact. That explains high increase in SBD's value. But we know that it will come back.
The Opportunity!
While SBD is worth about 6-7 USD, Steem is still under 2 USD. We all know that Steemit has a currency market where Steem and SBD can be traded. Look at the Steemit market right now.
1 Steem is worth less than 0.32 SBD.
And with 50 Steem Dollars, you can buy 157+ Steems
That's a massive massive opportunity. I have exhausted all my Steem Dollars at 0.45-1.10 price range already and converted everything to Steem. I'm zero on SBD.
But if you have 1 SBD, get 3+ Steem right now. If you have 100, get 314+ Steem and power up. If you have always wanted to have greater vote value and influence, this is the best chance. Power up. Increase the value of your vote.
You can also convert some of the Steem you buy now back to SBD at profit when SBD comes back to $1 and Steem is higher than SBD in value. You'll make more SBD this way.

Should we trade SBD now or hold till it crosses $10
I can't say that it won't happen because it can happen. But $5 is already too high a value of SBD. If you wait and SBD goes down, you'll lose the opportunity. If you trade now and SBD rises to $10, then do not regret because you still made a lot of Steem.
I traded at 0.55-1.10 mostly. 0.32 is a steal!
I already regretting trading all the sbd few days ago when it was $2.. ahh if I only waited till today then I could trade them for $5... which makes me thinking if sbd will rise more.. last time I checked the highest was $7 in the last 24 hours

Great strategy but I have exhausted my SBD before the spike... oh well... I'm still happy for those who have held SBD to profit now :)

Pff I converted my SBD to STEEM few days ago, now I regret I haven't waited...
I did the same but I don't regret. I have Steem and it has risen in value too over time and it will rise further while SBD will have to come back sooner or later.

SBD>Steem>Steem Power
That's the sequence. You'll buy Steem from the market and once you have Steem, you simply will power up. Steem = Steem Power in value.

That was my first trade here ever. I should have just bought, but I did an open trade at .3128 asking price. It hit and I got the deal.
It wasn't much, as I'm new. Still, I turned just shy of 20 sbd into 60 STEEM.
Then I transferred 40 to SP, keeping 20 in STEEM. That is also my first STEEM. I owe you one! :)
When I traded at 1.43, I thought it was a steal. Then on 1.10 and then 1.00 and then 0.75 and then .60 and then .55 and then final one on .43
0.32 is an absolute steal and you are so lucky to have such a deal in your first trade!

Any sane Steemians would do that. I converted every 0.001 SBD to Steem at the range I mentioned. I'm okay with not having anymore left to avail this opportunity. But I wanted to share it with my fellow Steemians so that they can make profitable move.
I think we Steemians know about pegging rule but investors don't. SBD supply is sweet $3+ million and large orders can swing the price heavily. Everybody is riding the train. It will halt soon though.

Before a month or two, I also have converted all my SBD to STEEM. I hope I could grab the bonanza. :p
What i am doing right now while all tis crazy rates are still available is buying bitcoin with it.. hopefully it will grow more and then i can buy steem back and power up.. or simply cash out.
Yesterday it even hit $16.. so if you had lets say 5 SBD you could’ve gotten $80 for them! That is really insane!! Unfortunately i had already sold everything i had and now have to wair and see if i in luck once i get paid again and have acomulated more SBD to sell ( hopefully then the price still will be high)
