In order not to waste your time reading this post, NOOO! I don't know how to turn-off replies on a post/comment, but 3 days ago as I was looking on the properties section of a blog post of mine on SteemD.com (a Steem Block Explorer), I've stumbled upon this:
Which makes me believe that it is probably possible for one to turn-off comments/replies in their contents CLI~wise?
Now some of you might probably think why would anyone want to turn-off replies/comments on their contents in the first place?
Well there are some useful blog posts that I think are quite informative but a lot of people are spamming the post with their gifs or high quality images that it makes the page to snap or occasionally crash. One infamous example was this post from the byteball team months ago: Official Byteball Airdrop to Steemians to which I was looking days ago to answer one question in Musing asking users how much they've gotten from that airdrop.
And what would happen if the allow_votes flag is set to "false"? Would that mean that a post/comment is not affected by any vote? Quite perfect for those opinionated Steemian who always get downvoted for publicly speaking their thoughts and opinions right as they won't fall to a negative rep? XD

If you set the po to receive no payout the comments can still earn money. I don’t think that there is an option to prevent upvotes.

I see you point, but don't know if it is possible to do that. I see some post from @dan that has the reward crossed at some point just some time after it goes out. I don't know how that is done it. And does it mean he and those that upvoted it won't get a reward from authorship or curation?
