I remember Ned stating a ways back that his hope was that steemit.com would be eclipsed by some other blockchain browser / site.
Not sure if that plays into what is being said here.. But certainly could be.

Yes, I did read about that, too. But on the other hand, why did they introduce some head of ui design or so, a while ago in a video here somewhere..

Because that would mean, they are interested in the ui design.
