It’s hard to be responsible with your money. You just got a fat paycheck and you’re excited, thinking about all of the possibilities and things you can buy with that influx of cash…. but wait… do you really need that new whatever that you have your eye on? A new pair of “dope” shoes, a new dress, new whatever it is?
Society and marketing have done a great job of convincing us that we always need the latest edition of what we already have and we often fall for it. Our extra possessions end up creating clutter and we end up in a cycle of working to buy more things. Think for a second if you were just content with everything you already own. Would you need anymore shit? What could you do with that extra money that would really make a difference in your life?
Here’s a crazy statistic : ”There are 300,000 items in the average American home” (LA Times)

This is a big deal because it’s a mindset. It’s a mindset of not being aware and realizing that you may be in a cycle of working just to buy stuff that you most likely won’t use. I hate the feeling of looking back and realizing I worked for a week or two for some new clothes or shoes that I barely wore… Because that’s what is happening… You’re trading your precious and limited time for possessions.
Next time you’re out shopping...ask yourself...do you really need that shit?
