RE: Steem Budget Proposals Whitepaper!

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

I understand the complaint (I've read the post 3 times). However, there is little if any irrelevant info. Not all ideas can be summarized well - look at the Steem whitepaper.

This issue may be too important to make into bite-size twitter chunks for today's millenial (of which I am one).

Choice excerpt:

In August 2017, @keiserreport received 2,000 Dash equal to $660,296 USD today for a Dash budget proposal at https://www.dashcentral.org/p/dash-gap. This budget proposal provided funding for a nationwide tour in the USA sponsored by Dash. Since then, @keiserreport has understandably lost enthusiasm for Steem. Most new posts by @keiserreport are about Dash. Almost all the rewards we paid @keiserreport were powered down and sold.

We lost the opportunity to build an effective ongoing relationship with @keiserreport to a competitor with worse fundamentals and we are missing more every day.

I think you're right, the pill had to be swallow at once, not chew up bit by bit.

Personally, this part I would have cut off though:

...maybe we will build a garden of Eden where we live and give up needing to go online to feel like we are connected. Or maybe a dictator on Steem will take over the world and put us all into worse slavery than we are in now …

When reading this excerpt, I wondered: what is Jerry smoking? lol

But seriously, it contrasts with the confident arguments (and lucid reservations) found in the rest of the post.

Didn't know Max Keiser had lost interest in Steem so quick. :-(

Mac Keiser is a band wagon jumper. I still remember him holding up that silver phyzzz and now he is all bitcoin bitcoin bitcoin. But you know what he lines his pocket with at the end of the day? That’s right FIAT

Don't know much about the character. I guess it's not surprising then.

Yes the article is long, but anything of this depth and importance is worth the investment in time to read it. Breaking it up will not provide a complete discussion of all of possibilities. I think it was needed. I read half. Looked at my portfolio of investments and read a couple of newsletter articles and came back to finish. Well worth the investment, especially if there is a path to implement.

I'd love to see steemit get on the map and become a massive and sustainable platform. It would do well for my 3281 SP tokens as well. I'm wondering what the downside is for anyone who has made any level of investment into SP or would in the future. Ultimately anyone willing to invest in SP would benefit from all the upside Jerry pointed out. Let's do it already!
