If you are new to steem you probably came here because you heard about steemit.com in the first place since it was the first frontend with the widest audience for steem. And it got the most coverage in news and other social media.
Thats why a lot of bloggers refer to steemit than to steem.
I figured that many of you are not aware that steem itself is the network behind the scenes and steemit just one way to interact with it.
There are a couple of other projects, apps, platforms and tools to use steem. Check out SteemDocs and SteemTools to find out more.
I just want to make clear that we're all on steem, not necessarily steemit. (e.g. I wrote this on eSteem ;)
Extend your horizon and check out other ways of steeming!

I first heard about steem because it was on Poloniex and @suppoman covered it in his podcast. He was the one who told me that there is steemit too.
