ah if you watched the video I specifically said this is in no way support of bid bots, but rather educational for those who use them
I agree with you but they have been baked in as the form of advertising here.
It will only take the design of a decentralized anonymous CAPCHA to change that and the will of witnesses to make that happen. Throwung up your hands and saying it is baked in sounds lacking in leadership on this issue to me.
I unlike most witnesses don't have a bid bot. Many of them support and own bid bots. I am not for nor against. It's not an excuse it's a fact. It is anarchy and proof of stake. I definitely would like to see better filtering no doubt. But we can't enforce policy to regulate as that isn't decentralization. We need a better way to go about this. My explanation of something (good or bad) for purposes of education on Steem is a positive contribution to knowledge.
So let's imagine that a decentralized anonymous CAPCHA was released tomorrow and added to the next fork for witness approval and you were in the sacred 20 would you vote for, against or abstain for the fork with a CAPCHA option which would make bots non-functional.?
I would vote for given it provided a viable solution. Like would every transaction have a capcha? Would that impede more than it would help?
Cool. My vision is that should such a CAPCHA be designed then upvotes using it would designate greater rewards than those that did not. Thanks for your feedback Scott.
Hi, @scottcbusiness. Is it really necessary for someone like me to resort on bid bots in order for me to make more than $1 on each post I make? I'm asking you this because not even with the amount of followers that I have, I can make as much! Cheers!!
Well see boosting a post also gets it a lot more views so assuming your post is quality you should end up with a positive ROI. The more you are willing to invest into each post generally the more you can make.

Rate Of Investment, so like if you bid 5$ and get an upvote of 9$ you'll get a decent ROI. There are many bid bots underneath the main ones there where you can make much smaller bids yes. You won't get much it's like if you bid 0.50 you may get a 1-1.50$ upvote. Keep in mind the payout is split up into several parts for curation and author then into sbd, steem, power.

The goal here is if you were going to use bid bots you'd want to invest a certain amount of steem and continue using that same amount and growing it larger to continue promoting and earning more given your content is quality enough to do well with some awareness boost.
