It occurs to me that wider distribution of Steem (while undoubtedly good) may be price negatives for a few weeks after the hard fork. Larger amounts of Steem are likely being awarded to "weaker hands", people who need the money and are therefore more likely to cash in than hold.
Agree or disagree?
Either way, I'm liking the changes so far.
My son is 12 and in his glory. He says he is powering up everything coming his way and so am I. Not a big account, but hope to get bigger, soon!
Wow, thank you so much! Good luck to you!
This can't be right. The market is being absolutely flooded if these numbers are to be believed. I'm waiting until the feeding frenzy subsides and we hear some proper news from ned or the top witnesses.
I think that's certainly a possibility and mentioned it in my last post. It will be interesting to watch, for sure. At the same time, with more people getting "real money" for their social media posts, it's quite possible more users could flood into the system as they tell their story.
Like your way of thinking @sean-king . I myself dont know much about the steem updates, but this recent one surprised me a bit. Hope i hear more about the recent update. So here you go with a follow and an upvote m8.
I was thinking about that one hour ago. I think happen after 7 days past.
Long term bad, short term good, short term bad, long term good. Either way you can capitalize and make money and steem! Use this time of change as an advantage!
my account is small but this fork help me go from 0 cents to 3 cents right away.
Good point! I agree with you. I think its already starting to fall!
Bitcoin is moving up today. I think thats why we see dips in other altcoins
true!
yea I think you are right. But I think the changes will be positive for a longer period of time!
Well personally I disagree I think this can bring in more people into the steem community overall. My steem power is pretty weak right now since im waiting for my bank to clear, but I don't think theres that much to cash out. People might be see this as a opportunity to grow their channel since the small rewards provide consistent dopamine. Just my thoughts tho
Thats what i'm hearing also... maybe I can buy tons cheap later :)
This is a great time to buy some more steem!
Lets see what will happen, may go both ways... also another factor that may have affect on price is BTC BIP148..
I think it will definitely drop the price for a little bit. All of the steem going into new hands will hit the exchanges soon.
I understand the idea, however, on the other side for many of the smaller accounts, it now becomes possible to buy steempower which will grant them the ability to give 0,10c upvotes at a reasonable price. This might cause many people to buy steem as well. Before this hardfork, you needed hundreds of dollars worth of steem to just have a 1c upvote...
We will see how this plays out, but I'm with you on the fact that it will be beneficial in the long run (and I don't even think itwill take months before we will see the payoff.)
I think the majority will see the value in keeping it here to earn more. Human nature is to always want more once you get a taste.
The estimated value is a rolling average. Until 24 hours have occurred after the fork, I believe the values will appear to decrease.
Surely people should be powering up to the max with all these 'bonus' payouts. Long term it's looking good here so I would suggest to hold SP!
I think so too, though I'm still happy with the change. Let's hope the market will correct itself eventually :-)
I think that might happen in some instances, but in the larger picture I think most will be holding or powering-up. I look at it like this. If you gamble and you go to a casino for the first time and win what are the odds you enjoy the feeling and come back? They may cash out quick one time, but eventually they will see the long term play and Steemit grows because of it! Just my opinion, but I think that theory is plausible.
Yeah Im not too sure what to make of it yet. I'm not really too techy myself, but I'm also liking it. I don't generate much cash myself but recently switched back to 100% power up on my posts. Love your photos by the way.
@sean-king think it will all be ok good to see the newbies doing ok on plaftorm
So now the question is, which will happen faster, new people arriving for the gold rush or existing users cashing out?
Possible but I think overall greater distribution leads to less dumping.
