For the past few days, it seems as if the notifications aren't working. It may just be a browser problem I am facing, but it is very helpful when that red # is above the users profile picture and when clicking on the profile icon to show where the activity is.
It looked something like this:
And when you click on the profile icon it looked liked this:

It throws me off, especially if someone is commenting on a post! I'm sure people have missed comments from others because they did not receive the notifications!
