RE: It's time to start paying attention to Steem

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

Hi @timcliff!
What do you mean with 250K unique visitors per day? All kind of visitors? STEEMIT users and non-STEEMIT users?
Is this an official stat or just approximative?

Maybe we should remember that STEEM has about 1 million accounts, but only 50K are transacting (readers are not included).

Here another stat.

Was just thinking about those numbers.

Sort:

Its more like 60k daily users (on Steem) and that is 6 times all the daily users of all the dApps on ETH & EOS combined, which have a combined market cap 130x higher. So there is a real mismatch between actual usage and market cap.

So true. That is something many started realizing a few months ago with the help of sites like https://blocktivity.info/ that compare blockchain activity metrics of different platforms.

That specific statistic is simply unique visitors to the steemit.com website. The source of the data is linked.

Do you mean Alexa?!?
Alexa traffic is not accurate at all... everyone knows that.

The number of accounts transacting is an important number too, but it does not count people who just visit the site to view/consume content. The number of readers is expected to be significantly more than the number of users 'transacting'.

Yeah I know that... and those are transactions of the whole STEEM blockchain.
Anyway Alexa is not reliable. Google Analytics is a better option, or something similar.
Thanks Tim for your replies... and I like this post!

Agree, but we have to work with what we have. GA is only available to the site operators. We can't run it on Steemit's website and collect data externally.

Yes of course.
BTW... was checking my Witness votes... why weren't you on my list?!?
Now I voted for your ;-)

Thank you :)
