RE: A Look Down Memory Lane When Steem Was $.10 But We Kept Blogging And Wishing Today Would Come

in #steem8 years ago

yes, this is true. It was really dark days, as I saw blogger after blogger leave. I spent a lot of time getting authors here, and saw them leave. I just stayed on......I had nothing else, no "real" job at that point, so I saw myself as with one option only: to keep blogging.

Sort:

Did you by chance ever run into any of those that left in the early days recently? I would like to see how they react to how it all panned out. I bet it would be like that guy that bought a pizza with 10,000 bitcoins :)

They'd have this look 😲😲
Or 😢😢😢

@gloglo, lol that was the surprised look with their jaws on the floor.

I think they will be now filtering back in. This would be normal human behavior...one already has....

Can i ask an honest opinion? As I was doing this video, it crossed my mind that Africans might take offense to me using black makeup. Even though I was trying to look like a skeleton, are you offended by it? there's a histroy of stupid white people putting on 'blackface' which is really offensive here in the US. What are your honest thoughts on this?

Not at all, we Africans do put on black paint too...let me get some pictures of all types of paints ( mostly black and white)

The black is from charcoal mixed with water

This warrior has his face decorated with a distinctive white clay to look more "menacing."

Usually done to ladies as a sign of tradition, sometimes during their traditional marriage or some tradition

So I doubt any real African would be offended by a black paint when we put it on ourselves for one traditional rite or the other.

My network was acting up.

You are right it actually never crossed my mind as i watched the video

It has paid off real good. It was worth the effort too.

So glad you did!
