What is LSD Microdosing?

Microdosing is the act of consuming sub-perceptual amounts of psychedelics, like LSD or Mushrooms. Sub-perceptual means the effects are subtle, but can have a noticeable influence on your life.

Typically, individuals integrate sub-perceptual doses into their weekly routine. Microdosers often report higher levels of creativity, more energy, increased focus, and improved relational skills. Microdosing re-wires your neural circuitry so you interact with your environment in a different way.

Microdosing involves consuming miniscule quantities of psychedelic substances in order to grease the wheels of cognition without producing a mind-altering trip. The practice has become popular among Silicon Valley professionals looking to boost their creativity.

Many people microdose in order to treat depression, anxiety, alcoholism and nicotine addiction with often remarkable results. Some enthusiasts also report microdosing helps to heighten spiritual awareness and enhance all five senses. So a normal amount of ug for a LSD trip is around 100 to 150ug and for microdosing it is only required no more than 10ug (remember that this is illegal).

The study, which contained two distinct experiments, was the first rigorous analysis of the effects on people's moods and productivity. PLOS

"Over the last few years there has been intense media interest in microdosing," Vince Polito, a researcher at Macquarie University who worked on the study, told PsyPost.

A recent study revealed how another psychedelic drug, psilocybin, increases connectivity throughout the brain. Beckley/Imperial Research Programme

"There are thousands of news stories and personal accounts online that describe a wide range of benefits associated with microdosing but there is very little scientific evidence on the topic. We wanted to see whether these claims were justified or whether the effects of microdosing could be explained by expectations or placebo."

“Our research shows how taking a psychedelic reduces the blood supply to a high-level center called the default mode network (DMN), which is a collection of hub centers that manipulate the lower centers and control what enters consciousness and what doesn’t – very much like the conductor in an orchestra.”

By reducing the command of the DMN, psychedelics allow other areas of the brain to communicate more with one another. “So there’s a kind of anarchy, a more chaotic state, in which new ideas, associations, and observations can come up.” Not only does this increase creativity, it also allows users to break free from rigid modes of thought and cognition, such as those that underlie depression.

Remember that the study of microdosing is not 100% discovered, scientist will need to continue studying Microdosing in order to gain more information about this "creativity boost method".

This is a study review based post, i do not promote the use of any drug.

I also heard that little alteration within LSD can make it to a potent drug counter-acting cluster headache.

Very interesting!

Indeed it is very interesting! We need more studies about the impact and connections of psychedelics in the brain.
