Hey guys, had some time on my lunch and thought, "hell, why not make another video?"
Writing is a challenge! It's not easy to do, and we can find ourselves at times not even knowing what to write about.
But I'm hoping this video can a little guidance in that area!
Just a little about me:
I've worked for as professional blogger for around 15 years (more or less). And I've worked for some of the biggest internet companies (and many small ones). So I'm just taking what I learned and passing it on to the community!
Let me know if you got anything out of this guy's. It would be a big help to me!
ANYWAY... Here it is!
Practice, practice, practice makes perfect! I know you're discussing writing tips here, but I feel a lot of what you said can also be applied to "arting" as well.
As an artist, I often feel like my work is un-special or uninteresting because I'm working from a bedroom with somewhat limited supplies. The ideas in my mind are so much bigger than my physical surroundings.
Occasionally I feel convinced I'm not going to make it anywhere, let alone on this platform, and I should give up and go back to a soul-sucking nine-to-five. But (almost uncannily) I seem to stumble across a post from a complete stranger who describes in great detail why that train of thought is complete garbage.
Thank You, @trendhobo for posting this video. You don't understand how much encouragement I feel after listening to your words. I will definitely be on the lookout for more of your content.

Thanks so much for the resteem! It's pretty tough on here for a writer. But it's also a great way to practice your writing and make it better! You just gotta dig deep and not give up! Glad it helped!
Hey mate, nice video spoken from the heart. Like you said, content is king and the only way you're going to produce quality is if you believe yourself what you're writing about. People can see through shit pretty easily and you're not going to be able to stay consistent if you aren't happy writing about it.
I love trading, charting and while it's not the most popular topic, I do it because it means something to me and the following here and on Twitter can see that I'm being real when I write. This is the key!

Yes, it's true! post where you love or passionate about, In my opinion it's about strategy and game plan, you know where to tag your post and the result is always depends on the viewer or the upvoter, quality sometimes not the base here because too many post I saw very very good,days and days of making but it end up the same post with just few upvotes like an ordinary content like me, the main thing I guest is how entertaining you blog and attract people, because it happens content may not sound quality to you but may good to others and vice versa, everybody is welcome no need to get stress what to post there's no rules of making your post as long as you stay good noplagiarism its about yourself who you are the main goal to get rewarded. That's it you are part of the algorithm.
Yeah, I know the temptation to want to just write about what's popular on here. But you have to stay true to what you know!
Very good information. Writing is just like anything else. The more you do it, the better you will get at it. Especially if you get real feedback, not just somebody saying "good post" or "that sucked". I think that's one of the best things about Steemit; feedback is an important part of the platform.
You have to have a thick skin when you write. Especially in the beginning. My mistake was that I took criticism too personally. And it discouraged me from writing!
I find that it is easy to overthink when you are trying to write a post.
A good training tip I was once given was to have a pen and paper on your night table and just start writing what ever comes to mind first thing in the morning. At that point of the day you brain has not completely "booted up". So things come out much easier. Things that you write don't always make sense but it helps get you in the mindset to just write and not think.
Another similar tip is to give yourself a set time limit (say 10 min) and do your best to get out some thoughts. You can always go back and edit it but it will force you to get your ideas out onto the paper (or screen).
I am not a great writer but was uncomfortable putting my thoughts into words. These tips helped me at least gain a bit of confidence to start posting content.

Really appreciate your advice. I'm a newbie here and still trying to find my voice so it kinda feels like screaming into a void and hoping to hear something back. It feels especially harder because my main interest is writing fiction.
But like you said,
So I'm gonna keep at it. I'm gonna just keep writing the best I can until something clicks.
