Is Ivan On Tech's Code Academy Worth the Money?

One of the biggest youtubers in the crypto space, Ivan Liljeqvist of Ivan on Tech, has just launched his newest course on his coding academy. For $99, you can enroll for his new blockchain coding course, but is it worth the money. There’s a lot of scams in the crypto space and unfortunately there’s also an abundance of people who are trying to make a quick buck selling courses to people that are overpriced and not worth the money. It’s really important to be skeptical and do your own research before blindly buying into a new course or investment opportunity. I’m going to go ahead and do that for you. I would like to note that I am not being paid to write this article, full transparency, I am coming strictly from the perspective of a new student that signed up for the course.

Let’s first look at Ivan. I originally became interested in this course from realizing that Ivan has a tendency to explain the projects he’s talking about in his YouTube series “Good Morning Crypto “ a lot more than most other YouTubers and has a much better understanding of the technology behind these projects more than most in the space. He is able to break down the code of different coins and tokens and explain them in ways most people can easily understand. This is a great asset, but still there is room to be skeptical, so I did some digging.

Ivan Liljeqvist is a Swedish programmer who has been learning and practicing code since he was 9 years old. He got into code originally because his RuneScape account was hacked and he decided he, “wanted to make his own RuneScape”, as quoted from some of his live streams. At the age of 19, he studied computer science at the Royal Institute of Stockholm. He found his fame on YouTube and has since been providing the crypto community solid, factual news and reports and interesting debates with some of the top names in blockchain. Most recently, outside of the course launch, he appeared as a host at the Bloxpo convention.

So is the course worth the money?

In my opinion, absolutely. Each lesson gives you the option of reading the course materials from the book, having him explaining it and showing you how the work is done, or you can do both. There are assignments given, a forum to discuss the answers and get graded on your results, quizzes, and tests to test what you’ve learned. If you need help, you can ask the moderators who will guide you in the right direction, or you can ask the other members of the community. If you already know a coding section of the course and are confident of your knowledge, you also have the option to skip it and move on.

The course teaches you the following from the ground up:

JavaScript
HTML
More JavaScript
Advanced JavaScript
C++
OPP
More C++
Ethereum smart contracts
Ethereum dapps
Tokens, crowdsales, and airdrops
NEM programming
NEM dapps
EOS smart contracts

After you complete the course, you will receive a certificate of completion and can consider yourself a professional smart contract developer. For all of the information you’re being taught, $99 is a steal.

The course is a lot of work and a ton of material, but despite the market cycle, coding programmers are becoming more and more in demand as the knowledge of the technology and adoption spreads. I feel it’s important to do your part to further the community and the implementation of this beautiful new technology, and this is a great step to help grow yourself, as well as grow the community.
What do you think? Anyone enrolled? Let’s talk about it in the comments. I hope you enjoyed this article and find it helpful and informative.
As always, go long and prosper.
