BECOMING A PERSON OF INTEGRITY

I greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and I hope we are all doing well. I would like to talk on being a person of integrity.
The Cambridge Advanced learners dictionary defines Integrity as the state

the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles that you refuse to change
This simply means that a person of Integrity is one who will never compromise for anything regardless of their situation. It goes to say they have a moral compass, a system of belief, one which they would never go back on whatever they face.

It reminds me of the story of Joseph. From the story of Joseph, we can easily see that Joseph was not ready to compromise his stand on being with another man’s wife. He was not yielding even when Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him, he didn’t yield. And as such, we can see that it cost him the relationship that he had with Potiphar, who definitely believed his wife.

This is not the only story of Integrity in the Bible, we can also see the story of Job. As a man, Job had it all initially but when things started to fall apart, he did not stop believing in God. He lost so much and all through the process, he did not waver in faith or trust. He refused to go against God. He was derided and ridiculed and told to curse God and have a merciful death. But he never cursed God at any point.

These stories shared from the Bible shows us how various men of Integrity refused to compromise for what they knew and believed was right because of mere immediate satisfaction. They held on to what they believed even though it practically cost them their lives. They were not deterred by it.

So my dear brethren, if there is anything you should take from this post. It is to stick to what you know is right and not be moved by people trying to dissuade you.

That's a wonderful piece. Integrity is a character that once developed guides every of our actions. Men of strong values and beliefs are always men of integrity. Joseph and job you used in your examples knew who they are and had strong beliefs that is why they didn't yield to whatever came to question their integrity.
