Hi, I am a new user of Steemit. I think the main issue is the advertisement of Steemit as a whole . Very few people know about Steemit. I , for example got to know about Steemit recently from my sister in Nigeria and then I remembered I had seen the image Steemit on a friend 's whatsapp status so I contacted him and he introduced me to the community of Steemit.
Now , the question is, why didn't I inquire the first time I saw the image on his status? This is because I thought it was some complicated tech thing or probably his personal business which I didn't want to delve in to because I had a lot going on in my life and wouldn't want to bring in another baggage .
In essence , there is need for a strong advertisement of this block chain industry and I mean accessible advertisement where a non tech individual would grasp the information and benefits without seeing the whole process as complicated .
Just is just my thought.

Thank you for your comment. You raise a valid point. First of all welcome to #Steemit. I could not agree more with you about simplifying the techy side of things. I for one have been out the street promoting #Steemit, handing out Flyers, T-Shirts, Business Cards, Mugs, Pens and Caps and know that there is definitely a barrier when it comes to the technical complexity of the platform. The real problem that #Steemit has is that it has been developed by some of the great techy minds that just assume the average person gets it. The stark reality is that the average person has absolutely no idea what it is and what is does, let alone wanting to join. When I promote and market #Steemit, I cut out a lot of the garbage that simply confuses people and sell a "Life Style" Social Media experience. The nuts and bolts I put to one side. Stephen
Exactly, you hit the nail on the head. I guess we still have to keep advertising with WOM( word of mouth) and make people understand the aesthetic side of Steemit.
