I can sympathize with your frustration, but keep steeming on. The idea here is you write about topics you are passionate about and enjoy your digital social interactions here... and when a whale passes by and give you that desired upvote, you take it. Don't make getting upvotes from whales as a measurement of your post's worth.
And when do you get that whale upvote, it will be a fun one ;-)
