RE: DELEGATING up to 1200 STEEM POWER to curators and solid bloggers

in #steemit5 years ago (edited)

Hi Piotr, nice thinking and very nice initiative...being able to assist a couple of dozen folk in this manner will make a difference, and it's a great example to set. It's the energy of Pay It Forward in action 🔆.

It's easy isn't it to forget the early days, when even 100 SP seemed to be the top of Everest :) ...it's easy, when one has made quadruple figures or more (however it was come by) to forget how much difference a delegation of 50 SP can make to motivation and sense of 'self worth' on this platform when the holding is in single digits.

What I really would like to do is make a suggestion for anyone who is searching for folk to delegate to, and would like an additional/alternative way of finding folk to delegate to than a call out post like this (not better or worse, just an alternative :).

https://steemfilter.space/ by @vitkolesnik allows you to browse posts based on various criteria. I have used it to find newer and smaller accounts that are active and which meet certain basics for me (no excessive self-voting; making some sense; appearing to have a 'positive attitude'). Here's a screenshot of the options which will tell more, it's a very useful tool for this purpose IMO:

🤔☝️

My imaginary-friend excessively votes my posts, to help with return on investment. Isn't that kind of her? I'm able to utilize ALL of my VP to help others because of this idea she came up with. 😉

I'm going to check out this tool! Thanks for sharing barge.
As you once said to me "intention is what is truly important" not verbatim, I just remember the convo.
I don't judge, but I often wonder if people's actions or intentions are even realized by themselves. Makes me think of reciprocal altruism.
Much love brotha!

...sounds like 'Pay It Forward', where everybody wins. IMO earning is really just a 'side-effect' of expressing one's authentic voice. Gaming the system is possible, as is speaking in an inauthentic voice. But (again IMO), when crypto moons (as it will in spite of the FUD), even a small holding of a few hundred Steem tokens will hold a great deal of value. Comparison of stashes may (will) still take place, but this becomes a bit meaningless when even a fraction of either 'stash' represents a lot. In a discussion about various interesting aspects of the Steem Blockchain that I just listened to, @frankbacon poses the question: "How are you trading your attention, ie. how you are mining your Steem tokens?"

First off, thank you for this beautiful imagery @barge, it's fantastic!
I had to step in for a moment while futuremind is off digesting the information you have provided.
He still has much learning to do, and doesn't even realize the fallacy of his thinking sometimes, but he is trying hard to improve.
I'm sure futuremind won't mind me saying, he was blown away at witnessing @fulltimegeek's selflessness. This was unbeknownst to him, as there is much to keep up with on the blockchain.
See you around @barge, much love.

Thank you for your comment @futuremind

intention is what is truly important

I couldn't agree more on that one.

Good morning @barge

Most of all: I'm very sorry for late reply. I've received more comments that I could handle and it's taking me 3rd day already to read them one by one and reply.

Thank you for your amazing comment. You surely put some effort and your own time to write it all down. I appreciate it a lot.

It's easy isn't it to forget the early days, when even 100 SP seemed to be the top of Everest

Those were surely good days :)

Thank you for that link. I've never seen steemfilter.space before and I will surely have a look at it.

Piotr

No worries Piotr, I saw that you had lots and lots of comments. And I see that you take your time to write long replies :).......good luck with the delegations, I'm sure folk will benefit and appreciate!

Hi @barge

Thank you for your prompt reply. It indeed took me over 20 hours to read all comments and reply. And Im not done yet. Crazyyyyyy ....

Anyway, I'm not much of a content creator. My goal is to post maybe 2-3 times a month and spent the rest of my time engaging with people. I believe that this is the only way to become a successful influencer.

ps. I tried to contact you via steem.chat as I would really like to get in touch with you (and I simply dont use Discord). I read some of your posts and I value your work here. Plus you're very responsive.

I understand that you don't like to receive memos and e-mails are not your thing. What about steem.chat or telegram? Or this is also BIG NO? :)

Cheers
Piotr

Thanks for the nice words and intent, you've over 600 comments on this post :) ....... I'm happy to chat via DM, but we seem to have a problem as you don't use Discord. The reason I wish to keep everything on the blockchain or Discord is that I generally don't respond to emails - I've got emails sitting in my inbox from years ago...they just pile up and turn into stressful thoughts. Is there something in particular you'd like to discuss? I guess if so I could create a steem.chat a/c. Seems a roundabout way to me when we have Discord - you really can't use it even for private messaging?

Hi @barge

Out of those 600 comments over 200 is mine :)

I generally don't respond to emails - I've got emails sitting in my inbox from years ago

I presume that you must be still quite young. Older generation (Im in my early 40s) seem to be more into traditional emails.

I tried Telegram and I found it very easy to manage. I also tried Discord (I even have it now on my laptop) but it's just so messy. So colourful. I don't know what is happening hahaha :D

I just switched it on. Can you try to text me? My username: crypto.piotr

Is there something in particular you'd like to discuss?

Nothing really particular. Simply sometimes I have a "feeling" that some contacts are worth "establishing" outside Steemit (since there is no way to communicate via DM here). And I have this feeling towards you. Simple as that lol :)

I like to follow my guts. Plus I like the way you interact with people. I guess we all like to be surrounded with like-minded people.

Piotr

Hey man, was out yesterday and tried messaging you now but you're off. My Discord is #8656 so just send me a message and I'll see it. Catch you then.
PS: 46 :)

Im trying to find you as Barge or #8656 and Im failing.

I really cannot understand how Discord works :/
