After flying over 8 hours to get to San Jose for the DataWorks conference, I picked up some Chipotle on my way to the hotel, rushed inside and immediately got on Steemit to assume my new favorite hobby of reading and commenting on all the amazing content.
One post in particular piqued my interest and is in fact the inspiration for today's post: a LIVE Q&A video from @allasyummyfood in which she connected with over hundreds of Steemit and YouTube followers to convey the merits and benefits of joining Steemit TODAY and how it is truly life changing based on her own experience and successes.

It was an excellent video to raise awareness of all the awesome work we're consistently doing on Steemit, but there was no way of directly setting it up on Steemit: Alla had to do a live broadcast on YouTube and then post the video afterwards on Steemit.
There is in fact another devoted Steemian by the name of @trevonjb who also creates incredibly amazing content DAILY around cryptocurrencies and Steemit through blogs and LIVE video Q&A. However, he also faces the same limitation of having to do a live broadcast on YouTube and then post the video later on Steemit.

What if there was a way to perform the live video broadcast DIRECTLY on Steemit WITHOUT having to go through YouTube or even Facebook? What if there was a.....STEEMIT LIVE?!!
Imagine the prospect of connecting with hundreds or thousands of your beloved Steemit followers all at once by performing a LIVE Q&A video directly on Steemit, which is also recorded automatically for other Steemians unable to make it to the live chat. We would essentially be cutting out the middleman - YouTube or Facebook - and provide a game-changing outlet for some of our most prolific and influential Steemians to connect and share their views with the community LIVE!
Could you imagine the sheer number of Steemians we could have online participating together in an open and truly democratic forum? IT WOULD BE AMAZING!
So how would we set up Steemit LIVE?
Initially, I propose that a separate channel be created on Discord in order to allow any Steemian to create their own Steemit LIVE broadcast at any time during the day. Thus, Steemit LIVE would first start off on Discord and eventually we would find a way to link to it from the main Steemit page.
In this way, whenever @allasyummyfood, @trevonjb or anyone wants to start a live broadcast, they can do so directly on Steemit without having to go through any other social media site. Moreover, any Steemian online will be able to enter a Steemit LIVE broadcast and participate freely in the discussion by commenting or even chiming in with their microphone!
I would absolute LOVE to see Steemit LIVE become a reality! Steemit has inspired me to start using social media again and the existence of a Steemit LIVE channel would motivate me to create my own health series, in which I would answer loads of health related questions from the Steemit community in addition to teaching my fellow Steemians about various topics in healthcare, fitness and medical technology. If you all wanna see a Doctor Ace Health Channel, give me a HELL YEAH!!!

That's a great idea too! We can start off by creating a separate site and then linking it to the Steemit main page. Should make it a LOT easier to set up live broadcasts on the fly!
Good - I will go and buy the domain. If somebody else have a better name idea please comment. I can start the development as soon as we all agree it's a good idea.

Then, we're gonna take all of your ideas from the channel and use them to actually build out Steemit Live! You can totally do as many shows as you would like on Steemit LIVE (or SteemTV) and I can definitely see you do your own cooking show on there every week! I'll also do my own health/technology show at least once every week. And there are also folks in the comments already expressing interest in creating different video series - a mad scientist show, a dressmaking design show - so this is gonna be so COOL and I look forward to working with all the developers we have on Steemit to start setting this all up!
