Today I noticed a disturbance in the force.
The value of my best articles over the last week has been dipping seriously.
This is due to what appears to be an across-the-board decline in the valuation of cryptocurrencies. I thought I'd take a minute to say to my fellow Steemians, "Take heart."

Despite appearances, we're not writing for pennies.
Steemit is in its early days. It has become a vibrant and rapidly expanding community.
STEEM and SBD are exchangeable for "major" cryptocurrencies, and therefore local currencies as well. Even if they did not have that utility, STEEM and SBD have the inherent value of facilitating instant, zero-cost, frictionless exchanges of value within our own global community.
Banksters are on the way out.

National fiat currencies are dinosaurs.
They have been folded, spindled, and mutilated to the max, and abused beyond belief by issuing governments and by the "banksters" that manipulate them.
Worldwide understanding is rapidly growing. Daily, more and more people are becoming aware that governments continuously rob them via inflation and market manipulation. As this awareness grows, more remaining wealth will be transferred into the seriously superior cryptocurrencies now available to the common man.
Our greatest wealth is vested in our families.
As we learn to earn and use the newer currencies like STEEM, we will become ever better able to care for our loved ones.

Take heart.
I have no doubt whatsoever that this is a "temporary dip," and that STEEM and other sound registers of our wealth will continue to grow in value as more and more "human capital" flees the corrupt and abusive government fiat world.
The STEEM pennies that you are gathering now are golden. They will one day be worth a fortune. Stay the course.

The banks and governments are lining up to figure out how to do the same thing with crypto ...stay away from the crap they bring out and all will be fine ... we just have to figure out how to keep them from buying up all the crypto themselves then playing pump and dump ... they will do it and we know it ...
Be that as it may, all the pump and dump in the world won't deter people from buying and holding as the "big dump" of fiat occurs.
And yes, you won't catch me anywhere near guv'mnt crypto offerings... At least not unless and until they eliminate and completely replace the current paper... In which case, I'll only be using theirs "at the fringes."
many good buying opportunities ahead .... unlike stocks when they go down everyone panics sell sell sell here its hold wait and buy buy buy ...might work out differently ...

if at least one crypto currency would be more widely used in stores, less people would sell their bitcoin, the faster we get there the safer we'll be from government

One thing I've learned here is patience is key. Things might get slow and earnings might dip but if you stay calm and patient then eventually things will get better.

Exactly, we all have to think about the long term value of our STEEM and SBD, which will certainly be worth a fortune in the very near future. Just like you @creatr, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon, so I'm just gonna settle in and keep collecting my Steemit pennies while I continue to impart wisdom to young minds and create cool content that truly innovates our Blockchain.

Steemit is definitely a long term project, and we just need to be a bit patient from time to time. It's the future not matter what 😉

Yes, you are onto it here. These Steem tokens are going to be worth so much More in the coming future. It's Greta that you can trade them for other crypto like btc and get some stake in the game as well. It has been abit disappointing to see the value of ur post drop. But remember the votes are still there!

I agree completely, we need to hold strong here. This platform has a future, and we should all be here for the long term!
