I signed up 5 NEW Steemians yesterday, just another day in the #SteemPowered life of @Decentralizd. What did you do to spread Steemit today?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Everyday I wake up and think, "what can I do to spread Steemit today?''... besides invite new people.. and some days all I can do is sign up 5 new people..

Sometimes thats all you need to do, just invite 1 or 2 new people who you can personally talk to in person, show them the value and really send the message home that Steem is not only about getting paid for content, thats just the tip of the iceberg. Steem is about much more than simply earning money, thats just the best way to sum it all up, and makes for onboarding noobs alot easier... but in reality to get people onto Steem that are excited to learn and grow with us all you need to do is explain these simple concepts, even if they've never used Bitcoin before than can use Steem, which is an immensely overlooked aspect of Steem in my opinion at this point in time.

1. Steem can change the world, it levels the financial playing field and has turned into the worldwide steem economy, where everyone can earn, equally (more or less).

2. Steem is censorship-proof, the worst thing that can happen to a post here is it's hidden behind a grey button... no deleting, censoring or even moderating here minus downvotes to keep scammers at bay.

3. Steem is not controlled by any single entity, even Steemit Inc. doesn't have 100% control of this platform or it's direction and did I mention anything can be #SteemPowered? ANYTHING... forums, websites, businesses, creative projects, etc..

4. Noone is going to be selling your personal data for money to the governments of the world.. no matter how much they offer.

5. Steem is a grassroots powered social media network, it was built with the average joe/jane in mind, now anyone can 'become someone' on the internet, build a brand, crowd-fund businesses or even creative projects and to top it all off it's FREE to join and ANYONE with an internet connection can sign up... and thats just nuts.

and if they still aren't understanding or convinced or maybe they respond with "sounds like a pyramid scheme" just make one last point and leave it at that...

"The internet at one point was 'just another science' project with no future, and look around you... now it runs the world not even 30 years later. But by all means don't feel the need to sign up yet, it's not going anywhere, you can always start earning later."

...Then turn around and mysteriously walk away...

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and tell your friends, co-workers, random strangers & everyone else about Steem before it blows up and becoming someone is 100x harder...

thank you for the info

and i just crossed my first 100 followers within one week and i am very happy about it, going to make a post about my first 100 followers thanks @decentralizd for the motivational post...

I come from golos (long times ago it was steemit fork for Russian speaking) however steemit is ore honest so I call all my friends here

If I knew Russian i would most likely be using both since they are basically the same but Steem will always be the motherland... :p

Yes i do like this. However it difficult to have progress in Golos because whales are most often upvote for other whales there. So my native Russian dont help me))) That's why I came here. May be I could improve my English and write more interesting posts

People like you make this world a beautiful one.my upvote and happy steeming.

Great post @decentralised, you sound like a man on a mission !! Go spread the word far and wide, like we do all here I think in this community !! Steem On

I've been on a mission for about a five years now, decentralize everything. :p Why can't we all work on a level-ish playing ground worldwide? I just don't get it, give everyone internet and change the planet in 10 years max.

Yes well I think many of us here in this community wholeheartedly agree with you !! The thing is there are a few that profit and control through this centralised model, they are not likely to want this revolution to whcih you elude ! But yeah totally @decentralised I hear you ) Maybe one day humanity will awken from this slumber and take back power putting it in the hands of the many from the theiving of the few ) We can but dream so Steem On to this hope of future my friend )

i thought i would share this update on Steemit website views

It is weird, many people I intruduced Steemit to just don't believe that it is true what happens here and how all of us can benefit. We have become so distrustful... probably because of all of those old economy commercials fooling us systematically...

You just gotta show them on a more realistic scale, normal users can now earn between 1-$500 on a post without any following at all, just some good content. But some people are always going to be skeptical because they are just ignorant of a small piece of the puzzle that is steem and do not care to learn further, which is sad.

You must set sail on your ship to the new world. Enslave the indigenous people and convert them to Steem.

Hahahaha to be honest thats how my daily thinking routine goes though...

Well done! Can content creators organize a SteemFest in their country at any time? I'm new here to this platform and extremely interested to hold one where I live.

i'm working on it! - lotta research into username and accounts and i need to get a bunch of steem in so i can do a bit of prep to get them up and running quickly. but i am working on it! :)

Congrats!
Yesterday I was inspired by one of the Sports contests designed to advertise Steemit to the outside world.

I said myself: 'Couldn't I do something similar?'

And I made STEEM Sports: Gentlemen's Wimbledon Singles – Preview and Contest

Thank you for the excellent lessons :)

Everyone should know about this wonderful platform - Steemit !
@trendo

I get met with such resistance sometimes you know, its a very tricky topic to discuss with someone who has either never heard of it, or have already adopted a negative opinion. However i love it when i start talking and someone says hey wait, what? Ive heard of "blah blah blah' tell me more... because then you dont have to peak their interest, its already done, and it becomes an awesome conversation because theyre willing to listen already. Steem is only the tip, this crypto world is only just beginning :D
Happy Steeming

Nice post! Followed. Loved your writing style, I'm reading more of your stuff for sure.

Very inspiring! I am so into talking to people about Steemit at the moment. Got one of our friends to sign up last night at a party and her account is approved already. And hopefully planted the seed for a few more sign ups as well :)

oh and I just saw, even my mum is on steemit now!! haha

"...Then turn around and mysteriously walk away... " xD

I tried telling my family members about steemit. Didn't really work out. I guess it's like you said about sounding like a pyramid scheme. And perhaps, if I found out about this site sooner, if the selling point was money, I'd think it's a scam as well. I signed up because of someone from a blogging community mentioned this. Sadly, no one in my circle is actually interested in blogging or writing save for my sister who I told about this again and again (she didn't really show any interest before). OR I'm simply horrible in convincing people lol
