What Next?
What is the next level for Seem Platform ?
These are the questions with similar curiosity is circling among steem developers. I also found this question while back on a post by @themarkymark titled What is the #1 change needed for Steem. I posted my idea their but bit late I guess because I didn't get any reply their. But his question seemed very interesting that time and today it crossed my mind again so I thought to share it with you and get some input.
I have actually thought about it a long time ago. The Next level for Steem platform. It's about three things.
- More engagement
- Better engagement
- Integrated engagement
I know, If I will quote FB or Google+ , then some of true believer of block chain may frown upon me. But Still I want to share my 13+ years of social media experience. From yahoo chat room to Omegal to Orkut to FB to Google+ to instagram, twitter and many more in between.
As I look back, I know why and how FB took over Orkut in just 2 years in India. That would be GAMES . Yes! these games developed by 3rd party made huge difference along with sleek GUI. You know, Why people used to go to chat room and spends hours on Yahoo messenger because of interactive multiplayer online games. And if we look at facebook then we have to remember games like Mafiawars, FarmVille, Are you interested? (like tinder) and many more since then.
You may like or not but this strategy will make users spend more time on platform and also encourage others to join even if they are not posting some original contents.
Steem block chain provides open source platform to developed 3rd party API but I am not seeing any small games like Card, Snooker, Chess etc. I know It is difficult too make new set of guideline and rules and how PLAYERS and DEVELOPERS will be rewarded but still guys if we want to make mark then provide something to entertain and compete in fun way.
As I said I have thought about it and tried to bring on board programers to create game based on steem blockchain. I had couple of meeting but couldn't find enthusiastic and blockchain believer around me.
I hope one day people will play games like casino, Pug G, Super Mario running on steem block chain.
