I joined steemit two weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it so far. I try to do exactly what you're suggesting and I don't expect to become super rich quick. Even a couple of cents on a blog post are motivating enough for me. It makes me want to blog more than on my old blogs where I had no way to monetize at all or barely got any response to my posts.
