I’m working on a post about using Discord communities to increase one’s success here on Steemit.
Are there any such channels you’re in on there that you feel have really helped you earn more and connect with more like minds?
If so, please share in the comments what community and how exactly it helps members.
I will combine what you each share with my own “best channels” in an article soon so that we can pool our knowledge and all see more success on the platform.
If there is someplace other than discord channels that you recommend, share that as well.
Together we rise.

Thank you for these initiative. Interacting with others was the basis of my success on the steem platform and it has helped me to meet other opportunities.
@thealliance is a community made up of quality writers but before you can join them, you need to write an application to join them. After your application is accepted, you are taking through two stages or classes with their discord servers before you graduate and become a full member.
@gratefulvibes is a community made up of grateful people who see reasons to be grateful to God for everything. This community has being of help to me in terms of financial help from members.
@qurator is another community that support quality writers, as at when i joined you register with 4 steem and your account, if its not up to standard then your 4 steem is returned to you. They upvote people based on your steem power delegation to them and from time to time they organise contest.
Awesome. I've used qurator myself, but had not heard of the other two. Will definitely add them to my post as your contribution.
Thanks alot
I'd like to see what info you collect. I gave up on discord quite some time ago in favor of Twitter (there are a lot of Steem users there too).
It's more me than anything else, I simply can't sit still in a chat room for long, and keeping up with a lot of rapid fire messages hurts my brains :D
I hear you. It can be really hard for me to follow conversations like that too, and I find I'm already arriving after the conversation has moved on. But just commenting at all keeps me in the minds of the other folks there, and I see that I then get more upvotes and comments from them. (Out of sight, out of mind.)
How are you using Twitter for steemit promotion? Are you linking to your posts in reply on other people's tweets, or what?
It's more free-flowing than that, I have a number on followers from Steemit who are also on Twitter. Only about 15% of my twits are links to Steemit - I just tag them #Steemit, etc. The rest are twits of my crazy opinions, insights or updates, which I guess helps keep me "on their radar".
Could be worth a try...
Thanks. It sounds like using the #steemit tag is the key thing for discovery by people who may upvote you from there. This will grow your following among people who are on both sites.
This might be a good strategy @indigoccean, but I have really not seen any community on discord channel with the many I have joined that can help me succeed for now.
But this new community in discord channel @steem-ua is promising to be something good.
I think it's a great one! You don't seem to even need to participate in an actual interactive community on there. You just benefit from being actively in community on steemit itself, like commenting on people's posts. I think you are going to do very well on there. In fact, I'll see if I can sponsor you for 3 weekly upvotes from them. I need to hear back how you sponsor others.
You are very correct @indigooccean, been active on steemit works well for your success.
Oh!!! Thank you @indigooccean for your kind gesture.
Actually I have already delegated some steem power to @steem-ua. 250 to be precise.
As for me sponsoring others, my steem power is limited to do that, but I try to support new users who are serious on this platform with my upvote consistently. For example @audreybits is quite a serious new user and I support her anytime she post with at least a 50% upvote from me.
Also I have supported some people with @steembasicincome shares.
I'm so happy to learn that you delegated for yourself! I will check out your friend audreybits.
OK. Thank you @indigoocean.
Wow! Thank you so much Yaaniv. Thanks to you, I got an upvote from Indigoocean. Thank you for your continous support!
You are welcome @audreybits 😄.
You are making a great effort for steemians. I think telegram channel or group is better for community like us because it is more common to use than discord. Why not you create a channel or group where we can share great thoughts and ideas @indigoocean
I will have to take a look at Steem on telegram. Is there a particular channel you really like?
As for creating one, well I just retired, so trying to do less these days. But maybe at some point. Thanks for the vote of confidence. 😊
I joined some group but those are not that much good. In those groups people only sharing the link they are not that much supportive. @indigoocean I am finding new channel or group which are supportive if I succeed I will share that group
I'm shuffling around with some ideas for a project focused us on steemit who are both invested and trying to create something successful.
I guess the problem I came across discord is when you reach a certain amount of people it gets tough to keep track and be engaged (that's my problem at least).
For me using discord successfully would be identifying where people are somewhat alive and easy to engage with. (@helpie discord made by @meno) is a decent example of this. They are kind of funny.
Cheers:)

Yes, I'm trying to hone in on those ones where people aren't just link dropping. I'm in a few, but those are all subject specific, so want to find more that will appeal more broadly. Or at least to others specific subjects besides just those I jibe with.
With helpie, aren't the members supposed to be offering volunteer customer support to various steem dapps/communities? Isn't that what they're interacting around?
I'd be interested to hear of your project once you get it fleshed out.
I shall be interested to hear what conclusions you come to @indigoocean. Like others have commented I find it really difficult to keep up with the disjointed conversations that happen on Discord so have given up using it for engaging.
I mainly use it now to report bugs or get help. Although I have recently peeked into the Steem Monsters community. 😁
SMs seems like something that is going to be very popular, without me. I just don't get the appeal. But if you can connect with that community, they do have a lot of upvote power among them!
