RE: Daily Steem Stats Report - July 28, 2017

in #steemit7 years ago

Still seems veeeeeeeeerry strange to me that only 20,000 active users participate on the steem blockchain.

I don't doubt the stats are real.

...but imagine what this place would look like if we had 21 million active users (which is quite possible?)

This is why the minnows must be helped. I am here a month and have a lot of good to say about the place. But I can't ask my content creator friends to come here yet - too much work for very little reward. I'm hoping I will have results in 3 months that make sense for promotion. Right now - I do not feel like I can invite them or I lose my credibility.

No one I know is going to buy their way to power. We rely on our content. No one I know is going to buy votes or do vote for vote - we are not in that segment of the population elsewhere and will not be doing it here.

I came in during the flood at the end of June which included many people from tsu - a failed platform that wanted content. Everyone in that group has great content. One of the old tsuvians (kalemandra) posts to keep us old tsuers together. This week I'm going through her list to see how we all are doing. At least 1/2 have given up and are not trying anymore. This is a concern to me for future since I know every one of those people and they all push good content.

The huge growth is only possible if peole are nurtured when they get here. So far - you have to sink or swim on your own with not a lot of support. I'm not saying it can't be done and I am trying and optimistic.

I came here for the Alexa ranking since I have 3500+ pieces of content on the internet already. I plan to move that content here. Now I am just posting to common tags and and challenges to get my feet wet and learn how to succeed. Only a couple of days ago did I find out that no post on steemit is seen by the outside world until it earns $10 in the first 7 days. I'm good with that and willing to work for it, but it does not help me in recruiting my friends.

How long will it take me to average $10 per post? I do not know. But until then, I cannot ask my busy friends to invest this time.

I post 1 time a day and comment like crazy (as recommended by many). I get a very low return of response or upvotes on my comments which is kind of surprising to me. It often seems like few are listening or interacting here - only posting their own stuff - upvoting their own work - and moving on.

But I am still swimming and will continue for another 60 days to see what I think at that time. I'm glad to say, the Alexa ranking is still improving day by day.

Hi @fitinfun, that was a constructive comment! You mentioned,
"Only a couple of days ago did I find out that no post on Steemit is seen by the outside world until it earns $10 in the first 7 days".
Do you mind sharing the source of that information with me, would be much appreciated since I am doing research on a related topic now :)

Thank you for the compliment!

This is the post with the info about $10 - it's an estimate, and in the comments, I should have said - but still a goal to shoot for :)

I'm spreading gossip! But I think it's close to true since people chime in about it. So it's my goal now. Good luck and please remember me if you find out anything interesting.
