I just joined steemit 3 days ago, I have so many great things to share about my experience so far, but I must admit there is definitely some negative and frustrating things I have experienced. I am a blogger and very passionate about writing. As a blogger I am a big believer of supporting others and connecting with people that have the same passion. When I came across steemit I thought it was a great platform to create great content to share with others as well as show support for those who are doing the same all while making some extra money.
THE GOOD:
I love how easy the platform is right now, submitting a story is easy to do and searching is self explanatory. I think its great to meet new people who love doing the same thing I do and learning about all their experiences. Everyone I have connected with has been positive and helpful. I did have a small bit of success with one of my post even though I have no idea how that even happened.
THE FRUSTRATION:
Okay so here is the not so good stuff. In the spirit of creating good content I am going to be very truthful here in the hopes that I can understand STEEMIT better. One of things I find extremely frustrating is the one sided up votes on posts that are pretty meaningless as oppose to ones that have great informative content. I do not understand how a post that talks about Beyonce buying Burritos can be so successful and receive tons of up votes as opposed to other ones that give informative information. I am not saying that my posts are all informative and great, but if you spend time doing research and creating good content your posts should be rewarded in the same way. Which makes me think if people are really reading the articles they are up voting.
As a blogger I am always looking to learn new things, connect with new people and and I hope to do this with STEEMIT. Maybe I am missing something here about the way up votes work in this community. I would love the clarification.
I am sure there are a lot of you out there that are feeling the same, lets get together and support one another and make this STEEMIT community the best it can be.
Yes we ARE READING! :D Give it time. As the site mature, personally I believe good content will be rewarded far more than beyonce and a burrito.
Thank you for you for your input, I am hoping that this will be the case as well. I realize it is fairly new @kareemaudi
Silly posts making sooo much money does seem to be a problem atm but this whole experiment is early yet and frankly any stories of people making a ton of money from a random post are good for getting more information propagated and spreading the word imo
