Introducing Pancake: Steemit's First Flat-faced Cat

I have a cat. His name is Pancake. And he approves of Steemit.

Here are some fun facts about him:

1)He’s white and orange-ish (like a pancake).

2)His face is flat (like a pancake).

3)He often meditates... (like a pancake...jk).

4)He likes his veggies—they’re one of his favorite treats...

5)He stares at himself from a reflection, probably thinking… “Who is that cat I see, staring straight back at me...” (shoutout to Mulan)

6)He looks grumpy when he sleeps.

7)He shakes hands like a boss.

Origin

My brother and his wife (who owns a youtube channel called sweetfurx4) first bought him when he was wee-little-kitten. Such a stout and playful kitten he was. Over the years, they made many videos of him and other cats. Eventually, they couldn’t take care of Pancake anymore, so they sent Pancake to me. At first, I was hesitant—I didn’t like cats. I was more of a dog person. But over time, I’ve grown to love the cat. Pancake converted me to join the dark side, to be a cat lover.

Personality & Quirks

Exotic shorthair cats are known for being affectionate, loyal, peaceful, and quiet. As an exotic shorthair, Pancake has all those qualities and then some.
He is a mellow cat, the most nonchalant cat I’ve meet. Also, he is easygoing and gets along with everyone he meets.
Gentle is the one word I would describe him. Every movement he makes is deliberate, calm, and measured.
He’s sweet. Sometimes when I feel stressed, he comes up and rubs against my legs. It’s as if he knows when to make me feel better.
He likes to be brushed, groomed, and fed.
He wants attention at times and is very vocal when he wants it
He is loved by many. 99% of friends who come visit end up loving Pancake.

Post-thoughts (behind the scenes):

It was really fun making this post. Bossing around Pancake and telling him where to pose was harder than I thought, but it’s rewarding to see that he's generally an obedient cat.

I sketched the steemit logo along with a cartoon cat I found randomly on google images. It felt like a good idea to draw a cat that seemed to be yawning or roaring out Steem.

My goal is to buy/make Pancake a Steemit shirt that he can fit in (and hopefully feature him with the shirt in another sweetfurx4 video). He will look glorious in the shirt :) I can imagine it already...

Does anyone else on Steemit have cats? What's the one thing you love about your cat? For me, I love that Pancake is kind towards anyone he meets—he loves to be petted and never deliberately scratches anyone.
