For All Steemit Users

For today's topic, I want to go over the importance of bringing value to Steemit, not only for Steem but for yourself as a user.

Engagement

Something I have been noticing is the lack of engagement among Steemit users. Every post you visit, it is best to start a conversation with the Steemit user than just a "Nice job" or "well done". If we truly want Steemit to grow as a platform, we have to attract new users by showing this is a sociable community that is fun to use. I understand the incentive for dropping a comment is to hopefully get upvoted by someone and turn your comment into pennies or dollars.

You are better off Engaging to make money

Why not start a good conversation and create long term value contrary to wishing and hoping the simplicity of dropping a one or two word comment will get you paid. Posting a meaningful comment will attract the attention of the Steemit user and other users engaged with a post. The user may even follow you to decipher more of your inputs. THIS IS THE LONG-TERM VALUE. Personally, me being on both sides of meaningful and useless comments, my meaningful comments attained a much higher value than the one or two word comments. After coming to this realization, I engage as much as possible, not only for my benefit but as well as for the community. You have to keep in mind that Steemit only has a million users and has many millions to go. We need to set an amazing example for the newcomers!

To conclude, assure that you are bringing value to Steem! This not only helps steem as a community for great growth, but it benefits in bringing you value as well. Always remember that you are lucky to be a new adopter of an amazing platform. This is like using Facebook or Youtube when it first came out! Exciting, ins't it?!
