It has been a hell of a good time on steemit, the past eleven months have flown by! I've chatted with people I would have never otherwise spoken to if it weren't for steemit.
Community & Rewards
Everyone is easily drawn in by the thought of making money from blogging and curating. I mean, we do it on other social media sites for free!
However, what keeps people around. What keeps them engaged is the sense of community, I know it does for me.
What's crazy about it is all the different walks of life. All the different tastes and passions. There are people on steemit I interact with that have completely different interests than me.
It has led me to learn about things I would have otherwise not come across. This is what makes it awesome!
Hopefully, I have imparted some new knowledge on others as well.
Putting in Time & Working Hard
Just like anything else in life though, you need to put in some work to see growth. There is no get rich scheme in life.
Steemit is no different. If you want to build followers you must put in the time. You must create content or curate and comment regularly.
I've done my best with this, aiming to post almost daily and nearly attaining that over the past eleven months. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't easy. I still have a job, properties to manage and a life that existed before steemit to keep up with.
But I don't mind working hard for things, been doing since I was 14 years old.
Plus, I truly enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge. If any of my financial advice posts have helped someone in their life - I can't explain the high that it gives me!
Conclusion
In the end, I'm proud of what I have done here so far and what I am a part of. There are certainly ups and down and moments I'd wish certain goals were already attained, but that is just human nature and maybe a little competitiveness after all those years of organized sports as a kid. :-)
Remember - whether you have 10, 100 or 1,000 followers, just embrace the environment. Dive into the community and learn new things, make new friends you would have never otherwise met. Bask in the joy of it, focus on that.
In the end the audience will come, you're network will grow. It will all happen organically as you enjoy this community that we all call:

Well done. I think it is fine doing it occasionally - the annoying ones are the people who make a "milestone" post every week or make milestone posts for other people - which makes absolutely zero sense.

Posting daily isn't easy but I also try to post at least one post a day. So i know it can be hard so you really have accomplished something!

Bro, cause I was in the same spot last summer when I started.
Have been grinding the last 11 months. I literally wrote posts daily teaching people about finances, real estate etc. and got single digit votes for my first few months or so. I'm not even sure why I kept going but glad I did as some momentum has finally been found these past couple months.
I'm in the West Palm Beach area- was living in West Islip when I decided to move down. I go up to LI every summer for a few weeks, fam and friends up there still.
I can always use advice in finance and real estate. Wish I started earlier but what the heck never to old to learn they say....Bottom guppy will follow , hard seeing through all the poop down here..Looking forward to your posts.
