With a noticeable increase Globally in the volume of Promotion and Marketing Activity of #Steemit, I am pleased to announce a sharp increase in the number of New Accounts that have been recently registered.
Whether this noticeable increase in the number of New Registered Accounts is a result of the overwhelming amount of Promotion and Marketing Activities or not, one thing is for sure, it has done no harm.
Marketing and Promoting #Steemit and the #Steem Blockchain is a vital piece of the jigsaw for #Steemit and the #Steem Blockchain to succeed and I for one cannot thank all those that are out there giving up their time to promote #Steemit and #Steem.
December Average - 1,954 Accounts / Day
Year End Target of 540,000 Registered Accounts
With now no fewer than 530,000 Registered Accounts on #Steemit, I am pleased to say that I have adjusted the Year End Target upwards to 540,000 Accounts.
Kicking off 2018 with over 540,000 Accounts is an amazing achievement and though it falls short slightly of the 640,000 Accounts I had originally targeted at the beginning of the Summer, the soon to be roll-out of the #SmartMediaTokens #SMTs will more than compensate in the lack of individual accounts.
2018 is going to be an Awesome Year for #Steemit and the #Steem Blockchain..!!

With the first Wales steemit meetup in the new year, I'm going all out to get new recruits here to steemit.
With only 15 active steemians in Wales when I started the process a few weeks ago I am really keen to reach my target of 100% increase in active numbers - hopefully by the meetup.
I've got 4 in the past week or so BUT the account verification delays really are not helping. Only one of my recruits have so far got their account up and running. The delay kills the initial enthusiasm. This is an absolute must for Hardfork 20 to fix.

Thanks for being a pillar to those of us that are always in the field to ensure steemit becomes a household name globally. SmartMediaTokens got my attention. How will those work?
#SmartMediaTokens #SMTs will essentially leverage the #Steem Blockchain by +10's, +100's if not +1,000's of time. In essence they are a token that can be applied to any existing Website that has Users/Subscribers so that they effectively have their own currency. Think of them as a "Sub-Steem" Coin. Let's say John's Website has a million subscribers, each chatting, commenting, upvoting, downvoting comments on John's site. These transactions will be "stitched" back to the #Steem Blockchain..!! To say #SmartMediaTokens #SMTs will be huge, is an understatement. They will be MASSIVE..!! Hope this helps. Stephen

This is awesome and am one of those who joined this month and have never regret joining steemit in fact have went on AWOL for other social networks. Am glued with steemit now and am bringing all my family on board next year

I have heard that the Devs are working on streamlining the signup process and that Steemit.com will launch new marketing efforts during 2018. Along with these initiatives, continued word of mouth promotion towards friends, colleagues, and relatives will go a long way in boosting membership on the platform. My hope for Steemit going forward is that quality will not come at the expense of chasing numbers and that long-term viability of Steemit remains the focus of all involved, i.e., Devs, management, community members, etc.

We will be more profitable to increase the steem price, I am very happy with the belief and announcement of the registrar that it will increase the amount of steemit users and find a foundation to be successful from here to give you excellent information.
With the current growth rate of 530,000 registered accounts,i'd say by the end of 2018 we'd be looking at approximately 5,000,000 more accounts being registered,because daily people are being introduced to steemit and they come to see steemit for what it is, its not just a social media, that rewards them for their good contents, its a community thats look out for each and every of its members.
Great report, @stephenkendal. I think it's amazing to see that there has been such a nice increase of average new users in December compared to November, and I'm sure it will be even a lot higher in January.
