Hello Steemit Friends,
It has been more than 2 months i have been on Steemit and every time i look at promoted tab, i am like WTF .I really don't understand the urge for people spending so much in order to get their blog in the "promoted" tab and earn more upvotes.I am not sure if you would agree with me or not, but if you ask me "Is it worth it?" ,my answer will be a big "NO". Yes some of the good post are able to earn much but there are many and many posts on loss.It is more like gambling i would say. Just go the promoted section and look at the figures (earned vs invested), you will be socked 😇 .
I can give you 1000 more screenshot on this. Look at the ratio between earned and invested, it's really very very low.
Can there be any alternative to this, in order to get more upvotes?
Yes there are many ways here in steemit which can give you more upvotes. Lets look at some ways :-
- Use of bot like @minnowbooster , @randowhale , @booster , @bellyrub etc
As you know how important is the first 2 hours of your post.You can make use of these bots to get some upvotes. In this way not only you will get some upvotes but also earn more that what you have invested.People like toopen the post with more upvotes irrespective of how good your post is until and unless you are popular and have high reputation score.
- Build relationship and make some friends here in steemit
This is the basic and most important thing here in Steemit. People are some much into money making that they tend to forget that Steemit is a "Social networking platform".So guys make friends,have some amazing conversation,upvote their posts, make some SENSIBLE comment,learn a few from their post and have fun.Also if someone comments on your post, don't hesitate to reply with a good note.In simple word i mean "build relation".You must have seen post from @sweetsssj , @kus-knee , @xaero1 , @runridefly , @firepower , @soldier , @onceuponatime and the thing i love about them is they always reply to your comment irrespective of their steem power and reputation score,they make you feel you are a part of Steemit family and we care about your opinion 👌 .(This doesn't mean spam other post with some shit comments like "follow me","upvote my post" and such blah blah shit).And whenever i login to my steemit account i always make an effort to look if there is any post from them.And i believe if we continue doing this some day other will do the same with us.You can also make good use of discord channel to chat and discuss with various people across the globe too.
- You can also get some free upvotes using minnowsupport
Ohhh, I love this thing so much. Upvotes (you get many upvote worth approx 20 cents) that too for free, isn't it awesome guys? Thanks to @aggroed for coming out with such a wonderful program which is a boon for all minnows out here.You just have to go discord channel register with 0.002 steem and bingo 😍 , upvotes and upvotes.
- Invest in Steem
Now please don't call me a hypocrite now, haha 😀 . Yes i am yet to invest in steem as of now but i swear it is on my cards.Just started trading with altcoins now,so once i have good amount of profit i am going to invest in steemit for sure. Yes i believe Steemit is going to be huge.Once you have good amount of Steem Power you can self vote your own post for sure but the funny part is that you will get a huge fan following too if you upvote other post.Don't you agree with me here?I would then suggest you have a look at @xaero1 post 😀 and you will understand it yourself.

Hello @swaraj, i want to thank you for all this valuable information that worth a lot for me as minnow, and it's all about interacting with other steemian's, for sure you will need to invest more on power, that's also in my to do list, i believe that steemit will take over all social networks but i think we need also to make an effort to bring all our friends and familly, to make this network huge, anyway good luck for the next and keep it up

If you put something in a less popular tag like "minnowsupport" you can get to the top of the Promoted tab for that tag with less than a dollar. Don't know if anyone looks at it though lol. Nice post @swaraj

It's funny that I find this post now. I just made a post this morning and I thought I'd give the "promote" button a shot. I spent a little under 3 SBD. Guess it wasn't enough because I didn't get any exposure at all. At least I know for sure now.
Ooh, you are bit late, but it's still good experience, so now you have learned how promotion button works, me too i was about to start promoting one of my post and i have found this post, thanks to @swaraj
Lesson learned! I knew about the booster bots before but I thought I'd try something different. I guess I should stick to what works.
It is great that you have learnt a lesson .And compared to all bots i would personally prefer minnowbooster and it gives upvote with high value
