I Believe in Redemption.

In 2010 we took a cruise to the Bahamas. We went on shore in Nassau and had a miserable day. The boys were grumpy and we got frustrated. We really didn't have much fun and got back on the ship. No good memories.

Finally, four years later, we went back. We retraced our steps doing and enjoying all the things we didn't the last time. We redeemed the memory. The first time still happened, but we have overlaid the bad memory with a good one. Unfortunately, it took four years.

Sometimes we never get the chance. The person dies, the event has passed. The opportunity doesn't present itself. That's why it is important to seize the day. We may not get a second chance.

But, sometimes we do. Today, my boys and I had a really rough day. It wasn't much fun. We are going for a do over tomorrow. We aren't going to let this memory linger. We do this as often as we can. A negative experience can overwhelm a person, place or time. It's forever colored with that memory. A pattern is set. Unless, we break the pattern. Time to take a mulligan.

We do that as often as we can.
