Your post reminds me of how venues like Steemit are often little more than proxies for the broader state of humanity.
There are always going to be givers and takers. People who use a system legitimately, and people who exploit it. People who are the "stewards" of the system (such as yourself) and people who are "destroyers." And — just like life — there will be many of us who care but are too small to make much difference... except by our willingness to set a good example.
